I have both the Nikon D500 and D7200. I take a mix of different types of pictures... sports, landscapes, portraits, etc. Does anyone see a good reason why I should keep both cameras vs just the D500?

Nope, sold my D7200 as soon as I got to handle the D500 last January.

Do you have another back-up camera? No way would I not have 2 cameras.

Back up body is good insurance. Sell the 7200 after you get the next one!

I don't own either, but my understanding is the dynamic range of the D7200 may be better then the D500. Still waiting to see definitive tests between the two.

I have both, also. At least right now, I pull out the D7200 when I need to use a wireless remote release (not supported by D500--just a cable release) or when I want to use the D7200 built in flash as a commander.

The 10-pin connector port is next to the lens removal button and below the D500 logo on the front of the camera.

Same location as on all Nikon Pro level DSLR's. None of them accept the consumer level IR wireless controller.

This will be interesting to see how well it works. Connects to the 10 pin connector and wireless.

Yes, I have a cable remote connecting there. This is interesting, though.

I'm going to hang on and see what happens with the application. MT sent up a flag! I don't like the return game!

That unit works well because it has its own receiver unit for the MC-10 port. The Pro bodies have no IR receptor on the body so the standard ML-L3 IR remotes will not work as they do on the consumer bodies.
