And make the Treasurer resignation publicly at a meeting so the other members know about the President's treatment to volunteers willing to help. Most clubs have a problem getting volunteers, maybe this nonsense is why your club may be having even fewer than the typical 10-20% clubs typically get.

Geeze. I would have used that line (or "lady" ), or guy/gentleman if it was a he, "person" if I didn't know the gender.
That's just crazy.

Personally, having spent quite a bit of time in the South during my USAF career, I find that "y'all" and "all y'all" works in almost every situation ... usually because the overly pc folks are trying to figure out (a) what it means and (b) what is offensive about it.

Y'all is singular, all y'all is plural. ;)

Once years ago, I was in a restaurant and told the waitress that I was ordering off the "Old fart's" menu because I didn't know if I was entitled to be called "Honored". The waitress smiled and took my order.

I'd tell the president to go straddle a fire hydrant.

Both are redundant if you un-contract them. Quaint, very regional, but redundant.

Tell your President to take 2 tranquilizers and call you in the morning!

As Board member of a voluntary organization, I'd tell the female person you believed you were due an apology. If she disagreed, I'd tell her to enjoy being treasurer.

Impressionist and Remus, you hit the nail on the head. I was about to make comment but you said it for me. Now I'm most anxious to see the results. Will gloryg act on this wise advice, and what will the outcome be? Smilin' Geo.

I'd tell that club president to get over herself! And probably, to get a life. In my ever-so-humble opinion (not really), people who take offense so easily don't have a lot going on upstairs to think about.

Hello,

I belong to a photo club. Like many clubs there is a membership problem. The president of the club kept after me for two years to become the treasurer which I finally did. Then anther two years venting to me about members not stepping up to do things.

The past year I ended getting involved in many projects that needed to be done. Several months back I seemed to pick up the president seem to have a different attitude toward me.

A few days ago I had to send some information about someone who was attending a meeting to the board of directors. The person who was coming to the meeting is a female in their mid to late thirties. I just said in the email here is the information for the girl who is coming.

The next thing I know the president who is female sent me an email chastising me to referring the this person as a girl. I was told I could create serious problems for the club and not to refer any member, non-member or vendor in an inappropriate manor.

I honestly was dumb founded when I received this email and I am now thinking of leaving the club. I am thinking of me referring to this person as a girl has nothing to do with anything and that by me stepping up and doing this other things may have created some king of resentment with the president.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

yes, pc is annoying, especially when over something petty such as this... another thing that is annoying is when an op gets 5 pages of responses and is never heard from again...
