Dear cat, thanks for that Info. I"m going to look into that, as I"ve always wanted a Hasselblad..

For those with severe GAS, Hasselblad is offering an FF 24MP DSLR with a 24 - 70 lens for only $4000. The price was formerly $12,000. About the same size as a Nikon. Tough looking!

Does it take square photos the same as my film one? Price might be within reach sometime.

Are you kidding? Sony v Hassie? Since when has Sony had cachet?

I agree wth you! I miss my Hassie's. I sold all three of my 500c's just to get caught up to digital. Film wasn't doing it for me any more.

$2k for a full-frame body and $2k for the lens is about right....actually less than my Nikon D800 and 24-70 cost.
For that price, the 'blad version would be great for an "image enthusiast"
They both look like a DSLR on anabolic steroids.

With your 800 you get 36MP...

All image, no substance (I say this as a Hassie shooter from the film days)

I, too used to shoot with 'blads.
I preferred the Mamiya RB's.

Well maybe not a habit, but one instance.

The Hasselblad X-Pan was a re-badged Fuji TX-1.

I had heard rumors of a Blad with a 6x6 sensor, possibly an article. The price was more than I paid for my house in 75.

Since they make all the sensors that the big boys use. Now if only they figured out the user interface experience . . . . . .

I guess that saves on R&D. They just need a few stylists. :D

At Apple, the designers are paid more than the engineers.
