Oh. Thanks very much. I'm gonna have to get me a bigger notebook!
I have been in both positions. When I first joined, I posted a photo in someone's thread without reading first (shame on me), but I had seen it done so many times before that I never thought a thing about it. I was called on it by the "forum police" and apologized. I was then told by the OP that he didn't mind.
Then when I started my first Topic, people started putting their photos in right away. I didn't mind at all and so it went. I also received critique without having asked for it, but that was OK with me too.
It is my thought that the OP should be the one to call them on it, because they are the ones who care or don't care if it is done, but that's just me....

Of course, and it makes sense, because when someone other than the OP jumps in trying to enforce the rules all sorts of posts appear unrelated to the original topic and all hell breaks loose. Of course, it's possible that the enforcers want this to occur, increasing their notoriety and basically hijacking the thread themselves. 8-)

I agree.
I've been the victim of these self-appointed forum police who jump in to the OP's defense when it wasn't necessary.

oops...answered my own question. :)
Ask the original poster if you can post your pictures.

There is a rampant and blatant disrespect for the rules and other members by some members of UHH. If you belong to a forum it is your responsibility to know the rules in place and to revisit said rules occasionally in case there have been changes.
At the top of each UHH page you can click on Home.
Click on any forum section and at the top of each main page is the link for that section's rules.
If you don't have permission to insert your photos into the OP's thread; don't! I see this daily and it has even been done to me. It is not a given that photos shared in the gallery are to be critiqued. Most are just being shared. When critique or PP is not requested, don't do it.
Everything is spelled out in the rules for each section.

I agree although I have been guilty of doing this myself. I have seen on occasion where the original post gets totally lost when all the comments are directed at the inserted picture or pictures.
This brings up a question. How can you show your pictures of the same subject without them getting lost from the subject at hand by not being posted until the next day.
