Friends of mine had side mirrors on their cars destroyed by pileated woodpeckers. They thought the images they saw were adversaries for their territory!

Very nicely done and well worth any suffering on your part. It's amazing how birds survive the cold without having a warm house as a retreat.

Love the pics Jan---thanks for sharing.....Love how you can see the ant in his mouth in the first picture.....I can never get that close to them at my brothers house in Minnesota...
