With new Nikon SLR camera came the standard nylon strap. Looking for a better new one. My old one is shot, the covering on the outside is delaminating. I liked it because it was stretchy (dense foam rubber inside with slick nylon outside) and adsorbed the shocks caused by the camera weight. But it was a bit narrow. Came with a couple of pockets for my cf cards which was handy. Don't want to spend a fortune on the new one but can spend a few bucks for one that will last. Guess you could say I want a Mercedes for the price of a VW.

Optech is popular and cheap. I've been using Black Rapid products for 4 yrs - no issues.

Good choice. That's the strap I have on each of my Nikons.

I found a Canon Professional Strap on Ebay that maybe what you are looking for. There are used ones for sale for $10d. The new ones go for $89.95.

Here is the link:

The only company from whom I'd purchase camera straps is Up Strap. I like the way they treat their customers, the quality of their product, and their prices.

It's a good camera strap. I have just bought another for my new DSLR. I have one on my P7800 and it stays in place on my shoulder.

I highly recommend the Blackrapid camera strap. It's comfortable and the camera is at an easy reach. Check out their web site.
