Dear Mary,

Did I? I'm sorry. When and where was that? I mostly try not to, though being a former English teacher, I sometimes succumb. But I sincerely hope you are confusing me with someone else when you accuse me of lashing people for their mistakes.

Once again, my apologies.

Cheers,

R.

Dear Mary,

Where? When? Please let me know so that I can avoid doing the same kind of thing again.

Once again, my apologies. And of course I fully accept your apology.

All I remember is I used the word correct, you said I believe that should be correctly and one other thing was pointed out to me . It might have been two days ago on that long thread about the guys avatar, and his photos that I guess turned out not to be his. No big deal. We go on from here ok? We are fine

Consider it a bonus!
Keep this in mind: these people are mostly visually-oriented so reading & spelling correctly may not be their first love or ability.

Ya'll be talkin' 'bout usin' a dictionary earlier....I wanted to know exactly what vichyssoise was, but I didn't know how to spell it, tried several different versions in spell check hoping it would give me the proper spelling....tried looking in different cookbooks.......no such luck...took me three days to find out exactly what vichyssoise is and four weeks to learn how to spell it.

Roger,

You were a former English teacher and you've never corrected my spelling or grammar? PLEASE correct me next time (or this time for that matter). My first language is German, and although I know English is a germanic language, I still could use a correction now and then. Thanks. :-)

Here's what Wikipedia told me:

A thick soup made of puréed leeks, onions, potatoes, cream, and chicken stock. It is traditionally served cold, but can also be eaten hot.

Good for you Dave, but if I hadn't already spelled it, could you have found that out so quickly? See, I was having a debate with a friend that vichyssoise was nothing more than a fancy name for potato soup and they were certain there was more to it than that. And your recipe is just fancied up too. Back here in the hills, we grow ramps, sometimes spring onions, and... who in their right mind is going to go to all the trouble of making some chicken stock just to make a pot of potato soup?

But, the cream and a small bit of celery added to all this concoction turns out a great meal for a cold rainy day, especially if you can make some good cornbread to go with it. Mmmm, wish I had a photo to post with this and some leftovers in the fridge. Guess what's for dinner at my house tomorrow??!! :) :)

But Mary, you're (you are) so pretty when you smile; so, I'd imagine you are (you're) downright beautiful when you guffaw. :)
