Scott kelby book is more for Mac users.

He gives the PC equivalents when relevant.

I get very excited when I see adobe short tutorials but I have to play them several times to write the instructions down.

Exactly why I don't watch tutorials. Give me an old-fashioned book any hour of the day.

I subscribed to The Digital Photography Connection at $59 a year for both Photoshop and Lightroom 3 & 4 instruction. Try it at http://www.tdpconnection.com/

Hi Candy

Some people do not comprehend what they read so watching a video on YouTube are the likes will work much better for them. And one other thing reading a book that is specific to the type of computer is a better way to go, I recommend not reading how to books that are written for Apple or Mac users. Just my opinion.

Hi Candy! It's so refreshing to see that others are struggling also. I also bought the Kilby book. The jury is still out yet. If you get something really good please let me know!

I found that I could follow a book most successfully was titled "Adobe Lightroom 3 Classroom in a book" Published by Adobe. Very straight foward and to the point. Step by step instructions that worked well for me.
You can't learn it all at once, take it one area at a time.

Yep I know I have to calm down, it is tough when you spend $30 on a book that does not suit.

If that is the only $30 you ever blow, congrats.

Try going to Adobe for their tutorials at http://tv.adobe.com/. I have LR3 and I found some good stuf there. Adobe is pushung Lightroom 4 but as of now for how I use LR I can't see a reason to upgrade (yet) :-)

LR4 Has a bug in it, reported by one of our guys in the photo group I am in, he has a close contact with Higher qualified in the photo business, and knows what is going on, we got 4 but are awaiting for the impurities to be ironed out, and then just do the updates. Thank all you guys for your input on my plight, I have imported 6 months of my photographs, and adjusted some, cannot export to our clubs flicker sight yet, so I am going to check this out now

Chris Marquardt has found a potentially serious bug in importing libraries into Lightroom 4 that strikes you if you use tone curves extensively:

http://chrismarquardt.com/blog.php?id=1620266956854377999

The official bug report at the Photoshop feedback page:
http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lr4_deleted_all_my_tone_curve_adjustments

The LR4 product mgr says they are working on a solution. If you haven't imported yet, you may want to read up first. If you have, you may want to see what the symptoms are so you can check.
