While diagonal lines are more dynamic than vertical and horizontal lines and can be used effectively for creative images, in this case it is not working for me.
Appears he is trying to hard. Having an L lens does not necessarily a creative photographer make.
Nice horse though.

I would have said "Thank you. Thats a nice clear picture, but why the crazy angle?"

I don't like it, myself. But as to what to say to the guy - you might try saying that the unusual perspective he used makes the horse look clumsy which is not how you see your horse. And then suggest he try shooting straight on. If he want's more help - tell him you'd have to charge for your advice as you are a professional. (Just don't tell him a professional what unless you do earn your money with your photographs.)

Cosmo, every photographer needs to try new things. Camera positions, angles, exposures etc. it's how we grow and improve. Maybe he has a thriving business and everybody is gaga for his DT's!
It has a very "selfie" look to it, and we know that's HUGE right now.
Just saying ;-)

I agree! Actually I have no problem with it. I like it! Theres still too many boring pictures around. When with other pics. in an album, it's probably the first one that people will notice. Also maybe they just wanted a horse walking uphill shot!

Thanks everyone. Yeah, I just don't like it. I think my horse is quite handsome and this makes him look very awkward

When you straighten it, it shows off your beautiful horse, but no great shot.

I need opinions on what to say to a person who thinks he is a wonderful, creative photographer. This is the picture he took of me and my horse. I just said gee, thanks. He is always at the stable. He has a Canon and an L lens.....and he is forever taking weird angle pictures.

Am I crazy? Does anyone think this is a good picture?

You should tell him it sucks and then show him some of the reply's from here. He might learn something....Rich

Looks like the poor horse is straining to keep from sliding out of the picture! Not a technique I would choose.

It might work for some street photography, but not this

I think my response would have been, "Uh.....gee, thanks. mmmmm, okaay"?
There seems to be a trend for those weird angle pics, as someone already commented. Many hedgehoggers are old school folks and I can see that this would not appeal to them, as it does not particularly appeal to me. If you were to frame it and hang it, I am sure a lot of people would be saying that you got it crooked when you shot it. The 'artistic aspect', if indeed that is what it is, would elude them.
