So since Sigma offers docs in Canon/Nikon mounts, can our Canon/Nikon lenses be tuned with this doc?

Sorry if I'm just completely misunderstanding this.

No, they cannot. The software is only compatible with Sigma hardware. If Nikon or Canon ever put out similar software, I would think the Sigma Dock could be easily used as the interface device for that software though.

Ok...next question...Why then does Sigma offer docs in Canon, Nikon, Sony mounts?

Because they make lenses in all those mounts. Sigma is the worlds only camera manufacturer that makes lenses for other brand cameras.

MT, does your crystal ball see any m4/3 versions of these lenses?

Since the Sigma I predicted months ago is now just an announcement away from reality, I have decided to stick my neck out and make a new prediction.
Sigma has been moving towards upgrading their lens lineup to their new "Global Vision" quality, all of which so far have proven to be exemplary offerings, and the capability of adjusting many lens features to your camera, AT HOME, via the USB docking system is without rival in the industry.
I feel the next logical step for Sigma will be to upgrade two high demand lenses to this Global Vision series in the Sports category. Those would be the 24-70mm F2.8 and 70-200mm F2.8 lenses. I think both new offerings will have OS with multiple mode settings, either 82mm or 86mm filters, amazingly fast autofocus, and will top the charts in sharpness testing.
These just seem to be a logical next step based on their progressions the last 3 years. But that's just one old Montana boys opinion.
Oh, and I expect these to for Photokina 2015 or at least for CES 2016. Sure would be nice to see them for CES 2015! ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hope so. The old Sigma APO line was the "go to" third party lens line. I had 3 of them for my Canon EOS 10S and loved them.

Now I'm confused...I thought Tamron did the same. Is it a subsidiary, or am. I simply mistaken.

Tamron isn't a camera maker.

Be hard to do, Nikon and Canon have been in the lead a long time, even when Minolta was doing pretty well. Sony acquired Minolta and said "Lookee here, we're a Camera Company too!"

I have been hearing great things about the Sigma line of lenses and will definitely consider these as I migrate to the full frame world. Appreciate the prediction and well as the news on another post you made on the HOG on Saturday about the 150-600 and 18-300 mm lenses. Thanks!
