I use a Canon product too. It's a $5 adapted FD 50mm f/1.8 on my Olympus E-PL5, but it still something Canon. Wouldn't ever swap it for my Asahi Pentax-M SMC 50mm f/1.7.

does that mean those of us with nikon film cameras only come out at night - what might that signify?

An attempt to hide your shame? I'm just guessing now, mind you, but it was the first thing that came to mind! :D

LF, you want to hear something FUNNY?
I too wanted a Nikon. When it came time to choose, I DID consider a Nikon. And with the writing clearly on the wall, I STILL wanted a Nikon. I wanted a D200 so bad, I almost got one anyway!
Alas, those sexy white lenses, and the thought of someday owning a 50mm f1.0 was just too seducing.
But, here's the FUNNY part. At that point, I too, had not yet met Sharpshooter!!
And I don't even drink coffee, so it wasn't that either!!

LF, you want to hear something FUNNY? br I too wan... (show quote)

So, when did your life turn to the darkside.....oops, sorry! I meant, when did you "meet" Sharpshooter? :?:

good man - a little bit of trivia for you.

those cameras were in such demand, Canon ran 2 factories 24/7 and brought out 20,000 of them each day, and still couldn't keep up with the demand!
they hold the record for the most produced cameras ever!

What a nice piece of history 😊. Thanks for sharing.

Just wondering why I hardly ever see anything from Canon users? Too many lenses with Canon to change now. But I still love this site and have learned soooo much- I'm still a newbie.

Yes, we, the canon users, are without the doubt "the quiet achievers"......What lovely eyes you have!

It's not a Nikon, but a Canon is still a camera. So go out and shoot pictures - like all the other Canon shooters that are not spending their time on forums.

Hey I took 3.5 gig worth just today. If I had a D800 I could have done over 10 gig in the same amount of time.

While it may be true that us Canon users are in heaven with our gear, even we need a day at the beach once in a while! (Besides, the wife wanted a vacation! She gets tired of schlepping groceries up that mountain!).

I did, but we had to get rid of it. She said that taking care of the burro just took too much time away from tending to my needs! I tried to tell her that she could just get up earlier and go to bed later, but she insisted that the burro had to go. I complied because I place great importance on making her happy! :D
