Our town does have two places to gather with friends and get the latest gossip [I mean news]
so now you have seen all of the businesses in our town!
If you blink as you drive by you will miss it!
the convenience store is where friends meet for coffee, one group at 7 am another group at 10 am and others come back in the afternoon
the other local watering hole--we have new bar owners who have not gotten a sign up yet. They named the place The Bent Elbow--the sign inside says come bend yours with us
we do have a firehall too which is across the street from the park.
It has been a long day and I'm only just now able to pst pictures of "My Town." I live in "The BBQ capital of Texas, Lockhart, also on the beaten path of "The Chisolm Trail."
3 of these places have been featured in nationwide food shows and magazines
Our historic court house...
...that can be seen just about anywhere near the "Town Square", it is also the tallest building we have
Looking down the old fashioed smokehouse BBQ joint
the pit master tending the fires
showing our American pride for our upcoming Chisolm Trail Parade/Celebration
The Lockhart area has been home to many movies in these last few years, "Machetti", "Secondhand Lions", the newest "Transformer" movie with Mark Wahlberg, "Where the Heart Is" and others. This shot is from the set of "Machetti" in
Our Lockhart "Roaring Lion High School Band", my daughter was one of the drum majors that year, she is in the front to the left.
Two of these big plate glass windows were crashed into in the "Transformer" movie
beautiful work everyone loved visiting all of your home towns, and thank you laskalass for hosting, hope Debbi is out of pain you and your family are in my prayers
pg 22 - RR - Enjoy your wanderings - look forward to seeing your 'new' shots at some stage!

In case anyone is looking for Sunday's challenge in the search field, I inadvertently put the wrong date on it. Instead of it being listed as Free Sunday 5-25-14 I titled it Free Sunday 5-24-14. However here is the link to this weeks Free Sunday:
