Voting rights for women, and for Blacks in the South; child labor outlawed; Social Security, unemployment insurance, farm credit, rural electrification programs; consumer safety protection; workplace safety standards; Land Grant colleges and agricultural research programs; public transportation infrastructure: universal pubic education; public water and sewer systems; the National Parks, and other actions to protect the natural environment; the Postal Service; housing health and safety standards...

All of those were, and still are, opposed to one extent or another by conservatives.

I am reminded of that quote from a Monty Python film:

"All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, the fresh-water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?"

It violates any and all concepts of law to declare a person illegals. Acts can be illegal, not human beings.

In my direct experience in agricultural work, every one of hundreds of immigrants faithfully and promptly complied with the law by applying for status. That leads to months and years of no decision one way or the other from the authorities, leaving the person in limbo. That happens because the entire issue has become a political football. The goal of the people whipping up the anti-immigrant hysteria is not to deport people nor to stop immigration, but to crush and intimidate people so they are more easily exploited.

I am fairly certain that none of my ancestors - all coming in the 1700s and 1800s, from Westphalia, East Anglia, Sweden, Alsace-Loraine - were ever "legal." That is to say, if they were here, working and obeying the law they were presumed innocent and were not placed into a position of having to prove their "legality."

That, by the way, is the logical outcome of the anti-immigrant hysteria. The only way to know who is "legal" and who is not is to force all of us to prove upon demand by any official that we are not guilty. That undermines the entire framework of law, and destroys and any all civil liberties. Be careful what you wish for. Anything and everything that you encourage the authorities to do to one group today will some day be turned on you.

The second term of Barack Obama will be the final nail in the coffin for the legacy of the white Christian males who discovered, explored, pioneered, settled and developed the greatest Republic in the history of mankind.
A coalition of Blacks, Latinos, Feminists, Gays, Government Workers, Union Members, Environmental Extremists, The Media, Hollywood, uninformed young people, the "forever needy," the chronically unemployed, illegal aliens and other "fellow travelers" have ended Norman Rockwell's America.

The American Constitution has been replaced with Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" and Chicago shyster, David Axelrod, along with international Socialist George Soros will be pulling the strings on their beige puppet to bring us Act 2 of the New World Order.
Our side ran two candidates who couldn't even win their own home states, and Chris Christie helped Obama over the top with a glowing "post Sandy" tribute that elevated the "Commander-in-Chief" to Mother Teresa status.
( Aside: with the way the polls were run, he didn't need any help! )
People like me are completely politically irrelevant, and I will never again comment on or concern myself with the aforementioned coalition which has surrendered our culture, our heritage and our traditions without a shot being fired.
You will never again out-vote these people.
It will take individual acts of defiance and massive displays of civil disobedience to get back the rights we have allowed them to take away.
It will take Zealots, not moderates & shy not reach-across-the-aisle RINOs to right this ship and restore our beloved country to its former status.
Those who come after us will have to risk their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor to bring back the Republic that this generation has timidly frittered away due to "white guilt" and political correctness.
