From what I have seen in my 30+ years in the fire service are, that these types of face shields tend to melt, and therefore are useless after a fire anyway, especially being as close as that fireman. It is one reason the department I work for does not purchase shields for our helmets. JMO

I won a contest this week too! It was a picture of my Grandson on a train. Printed in the paper yesterday

Thank you. My friend recieved minor injures when she cut her feet open trying to get out and get help but will be ok. Everyone else home (her children and her new boyfriend) were ok and everyone lost everything including the dog that helped save them. I was able to get the update last night as well as photos of the fire. I know her family too and they have been through a lot in the last 20 years and now this. I hope this is the end to the bad luck for them.

Thank You for that detail. They actually did have 1 start to melt from that fire. I didn't get a photo of it after the fire though since I was kind of busy helping the investigator by doing the photos for him. (I can't post the investigation photos-sorry) I do have lots more photos from this fire showing the full machine as well as the smoke coming from the wood shop inside the school and more.

Thank You. It was a hot fire and it was in April with warmer than normal temps to go with it so it made for a hot call.
