Jen, I know what you mean, since I started taking pictures you do see the world in another way.............one thing I was told once, always look behind you, you may be focussing so much on what you are seeing in front that there may be something behind you are missing.
Enjoy every minute,

Another lovely sunny Florida day yesterday, so I drove a mile or two. I had to get this tower! I could not get very close, I think the sky is a little messy but oh well. The heron stayed nicely for me even if the tree is a bit 'soft' and such an intereting sky, I wonder where all of those planes came from or are going to?
As always comments and critiques are welcome.

Wendy,

Congrats on the Heron, those guys always flew away when I tried to shoot them in TX. The tower is way cool and I like the contrails too.

Keep 'em coming,

Eric

Wendy,

Great advice. I was shooting the top pano and then walked across a small country road and found the bottom photo through a break in the trees.

Jen,

Thanks. The fact that the pano of the Nolichuckey River was a found photo, I was there to shoot the tomato farm, makes it that much nicer to me.

Here's a few from Clark's Creek Rd in the Cherokee National Forest, one of my favorite place to walk. About 5 miles out and back on a fairly well maintained, gravel cul de sac with minimal traffic. I saw two cars and one guy on horseback on my end to end walk that day. Forest, mountain stream, 5 trailheads, and some gentle rolling hills; I think Apple likes it as much as I do.

Jen,

I'm glad you enjoy my photos, I had a lot of fun capturing and then processing them.

Apple is my hiking dog, as opposed to Tatee, my house Pug. Apple came with that name from the shelter and we couldn't think of anything that fit her better so Apple she stayed.

Nikon makes good cameras and there are plenty of their lenses and third party lenses that fit Nikons too. If you don't have your camera converted to IR only, DSLR's are tricky for IR capture involving a tripod and multi-second captures.

You might check on having your Fuji converted to IR only once you get your new SLR. Just a thought.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of SLR you get.

These were taken with a Sony DSCF717 in night shooting mode using a 950nm IR filter. The camera has to be in auto program for IR shooting.

Geoff,

Good to see a new name and some fresh IR photos. I had read that Sony had really hobbled the Night Shot mode on their DSCF series, how did you get it to work? Did you just set it to Auto mode? Did the 950nm filter make it so dark it worked anyway?

Interesting shots, did you add vignetting to the third photo or is that from the camera? I am interested in seeing more of your IR work.

Post more soon,

Eric
