I think rule #1 would be to keep guns away from small children.
Not my place to say anything of the sort to someone who's paying me just to take pictures. And it wasn't close to her at all. It was very far behind her.
I brightened Your photo just a bit and added some contrast, also a little cropping to keep the eye from wandering
Here's two that I played with a little bit this morning...

This is a perfect example why the new content aware feature is such a beautiful thing in Photoshop CS5.

Oh boy...that's my problem. I don't ever really remember what I do. I jusp mess with it till it looks good to me.
BUT I'm pretty sure I can remember most of it (seeing as I just did it!)
I cropped it tight, gave it some vignette and a little midpoint, diffused glow, took out most of the graininess, turned up the contrast, turned down the brightness just a bit and turned down the saturation to about -10...
I'm pretty sure that's it
Oh...somewhere in there, prolly after the diffuse glow I sharpened the radius to about 5 or so pixels
Sounds like you just have a lot of fun.

Haha...pretty much! I like to try different things.
if you have CS5 you can draw a selection around the object and then hit delete, the widow will pop up and you can do 'content deletion' of the item. Does a really nice job most of the time.

I have Photoshop Elements 8
clone, baby, clone!!!
Actually look to see if you have a 'patch' selection tool. This does some nice cloning but on a selected area. Sort of the same thought process as 'content aware delete' but without the college diploma.
