Very nice, not quite sure if the cowgirls hair is hers or the horse tail

I like the colour version, but I can see why you turned it to b/w that shirt is very eye catching. It's a great image, but I think the b/w needs to have a contrast boost just to separate her from the horse. Everything else is wonderful.
I'm not a big fan of selective colouring, it's a personal thing, nothing to do with your editing or photography. The images themselves are great shots. I would love to see the one of her with her horse with a clean colour edit. I think it would really pop.
I have to agree that this would be better in color. Western bling is so "in' but it is lost in B/W. As for the horse's a...
this is a candid shot at a horse show. I guess that only a
horse person would not be put off by it. It's part of the whole picture. That's why it's candid.

Haha...it's hers. But it IS in perfect location to be the horse's!

I'll have to search for that one. Prolly have it somewhere just not sure where. :)
There always some smart aleck ! I look at the photo and the dark colors of her shirt lead my eyes to "HER" I did even see the horse have to look a second time A gread shot keep up the good work...
aphelpsphoto, you have a great eye. In the second and third images where you only color an article of clothing would be brilliant for a clothing ad, especially for western wear. nice Job and keep it up.

I'll have to ask her what brand that shirt was and send it in to them! (As long as she's ok with it!)
darken that horsde and the back ground and sharpen the exposure a little darker. for black and white. Or this looks like color conversion gone bad.

I'm a fan of Well-Done color select, and in my opinion, this qualifies ! Did you try including her face / face & hands ? Might be better, might not. If it was an ad for the shirt, i would say not - if it was for the girl, maybe yes. Also - try coloring just the horse ! I think it would pop for a horsey person !
My daughter's entourage !
My shiny new son-in-law!
I didn't try that. I'll have to find the original and try that too. Thanks!

I hope you don't mind me making a small adjustment , this is how I see it.
You captured her beautiful features, great shot.
Some said it would look better if it had a better background, some times you just have to get the great shot in spite of the background.
A very gud composition, well balanced portraiture, just try to review your exposure triangle to add more "crisp" to you image more contrast should be given emphasis when shooting on monochorme. Njoy shooting!!!
