I think that it's a great image, well composed..

My only criticism may be that there is very little contrast between the cowgirls face and the horse..

I very much agree with you. Although it looks a bit better printed out. Any ideas on how to fix that?

Sadly my critique comes at the expense of a great subject with a horse's a** as a background. Otherwise, great job!

aphelps was this shot in black and whie, or was it converted to b/w? I am a big b/w fan but in this case with the lack of contrast as well as all those shiny rhinestones on her jacket, i think color would be better. if you have the color shot why don't you post it.

Use selection tool on the horses backside in Photoshop and use sliders to darken it or use Nik Vivesa to selectively change.

do you let the software decide your black and whites or do you make the adjustments? try making the decisions for your self and darken things a bit so the saddle doesn't blend in with the sky and then your contrast between horse and girl will be more pronounced. this is a great shot, just needs a bit of adjusting.

Thank you for being someone to actually help me by giving tips instead of making jokes about my photo. :) I will definitely try that!

not everyone knows photo editing skills. none of the humor was done at your expense, and if you think about it it is funny. don't take things in life so seriously. I did say i like your photo but thought it would be better in color.

No...I made the decisions on the adjustments. The horse is tied to a trailer so that part won't change. Not much I can do with a bland silver background. My main concern in taking the photo was obviously the girl. And it wasn't a photo that was posed. She was brushing her horses tail before she went in the showering and they were announcing the next class over the loud speaker and she turned her head to look and I just snapped. I agree that I could have set it up a little better...but I don't think her expression could have ever been replicated. Thanks for saying it's a great shot

I know it wasn't pointed at me. And I can see the humor in the photo. And I thank you for liking the photo an I'll try to find the original for you to see. I turned it black and white because her shirt is very bright pink and purple and I felt it pulled away from her face. Guess it just brought out the horses butt instead. Oh well, ya win some, ya lose some.

The photograph is actually very crisp and is very nicely composed but the "butt" is just, there! If it wasn't for that and it was the horses head or something other, I think it would be perfect for a senior photo! I know, "I" am not making fun of you or your photograph, just being honest! Yes, I will admit "I laughed" after seeing it but I still reviewed the quality and got your intentions! Just wanted to let you know!
