I like it, but I agree that the face should have a little more light on it. The comment about capturing the reflection in the window was also good. Here's a couple of mine. I do mainly nature and lanscape photos.
wow where did you find the butterflies? the colors are beautiful!

JDTX, having never heard of the *rule of 3rd's*, I had no idea. I've looked it up on the internet, and I understand what you're saying. Now I know why my camera has a *tic tac toe* grid in the view finder, and I plan to make good use of it. Thanks. I've re-cropped a couple pics. Please tell me what you think of my use of *the rule*.
i like the second one the best

Thank you Trish. I wish I could accept responsibility for the colors, but the camera did all the work.
wow! beautiful! :!: :!: :!: :!:
Trish, join a camera club, there are usually pros in their membership, at least there are a lot of them in our club. It is the best thing I ever did. We have two competitions a month and they score and critique every entry. These critiques are invaluable and what you learn from your fellow members is unbelievable. Our club meets once a week but I think most clubs don't meet that often. We have an extremely talented club and they are very competitive. Good luck.

The second flower shot is the best of the two, great job. I would crop out a lot of the right side on the first shot.
Kathy, you have some beautiful shots
Thanks for the compliment.
well deserved, I wish this forum was a bit more organized, or I wasn't so dense..it seems a lot of pics show up, and people comment on them but, the comments may come much later and in between, there have been several other pics posted, and sometimes hard for me to follow who is talkin' about what..
I agree jdtx-bit confusing and seems to take up a lot of space as far as repeating for the followups-but you have to scan everything to find replies. Tough, but definitely enjoyable.
Kathy, wow, beautiful. I may check out a camera club. Thanks
Kathy,
Your shots are breathtaking! I love them, especially the sunrise. That's just gorgeous. :D
jdtx you certainly caught the mood, terrific. Personally, for my taste I would try to darken the light area above her head just a tiny bit.
Too bad we can't delete a post.

Here's two minutes in Photoshop. Pardon my intrusion.
Slight adjustment to a good picture.
