All this chat about buying lens and the cost is minimal to what we used to have to spend on film & processing - I just spent another $40 (3 rolls of film & processing) for an adapter so I can use some prime glass FD lens on my rebel - the FD lens were with a kit of Canon SLR I inherited.
now I have: Rebel 350D
24mm FD
50mm FD
500mm FD
18-55mm Kit w/Rebel
35-70mm FD
75-150 + matched 2X FD
100-300mm kit w/Rebel
All are Canon lens

You don't. (I really did not need any more lenses, but I just bought the 135/f2.0 and a couple of days later, I got the MPE 65mm/2.8 as well). I probably have about twenty+ lenses or so but I don't expect to stop buying new ones any time soon.

The cost is not as much of an issue as hauling glass.
No spring chicken these days.

That is why I moved from Wallace, ID in '55 I knew there was nice weather AND Mountains in CA. In Wallace we used to say "If Summer falls on Sunday we were going fishing"

Now. the question.
HOW DO I STOP buying camera glass?quote]

Bruce, sorry, but the first time, I didn't give you any real advice. But I think I've got it. It'll keep us BOTH out of the poorhouse.
We form a partnership !!
Most of what you have, I don't. Most of what I have, you Don't.
So we combine our lenses. At the rate we are both going, in about ten years, we should have all we need!!
Bruce, what da ya say ??!!

Just ask yourself this
"Do I need it?"
or
"Do I want it?"

and let your wallet be your guide

I have to make an assumption. I'm going to assume you have a crop camera since you said you just bought a 10-22 which you love and it will not work on a FF. You could of course also have a FF. But when you go out to shoot unless you are a die hard enthusiast I don't think you would want to lug two cameras around so I stick with you have a crop.

I'll also assume you have enough money to support your habit so sell all the EF-S lenses and the crop and buy a 1Dx to maximum the potential of all your expensive glass and drain you bank account sufficiently enough so you won't be tempted to buy more glass for awhile.

If my assumptions are wrong please disregard.:-)

Harvey, can't we just leave my skinny wallet out of this. If it were up to my wallet, I wouldn't even be wearing shoes right now.

GaryS, what's it matter if there's no money in the bank? That's why God created credit!!

Knowing me I would end up with a 1DX and living in a single wide :)

Bodies is a great idea but for the fact the bodies I have are quite adequate for the task.
