Hummm..... Better lust after glass and satisfy that than things that are more dangerous kinds of fun.

This is off topic of glass, but more along the lines of dangerous kinds of fun.

I heard a story yesterday from a co-worker who has a family member watching over the finances of an elderly relative . The family member watching the finances was not exactly a young adult at 69 years of age and should know better. Short story the 69 year blew $237,000 from leaving only $13,000 in the account of the elder only after 18 months of handling the account. The money was mostly spent in casinos!! OUCH and some of us get nervous spending $1000 or $2 on glass!

Bit the bullet and bought the 70-200 2.8L glass I have been lusting after. A month after I bought the 10-22 lens I had been wanting.
I think (HOPE) I have ever bit of glass I can reasonably expect to use.

Now. the question.

HOW DO I STOP buying camera glass?
70-200 2.8L
100-400 3.5L
18-200 EFS
28-135 EF
10-22 EFS
100 2.8 EF Macro

professional help?

I, at one time had an elephant, I could not keep him from charging, I ended up tearing up his credit card. That is my advice to you.

Bruce, does that mean you have been so busy buying lenses that you haven't had a chance to use any of them yet?

Rob , Yes I use them, the daily hunt for food and rent keep me busy in this economy, however I have a trip to Blue Ridge Mountains late in the month. will get some fresh air and what I am hoping will be stellar photography opportunities.
Thanks for the comment

Seems with me it one thing or another, When young it was fuel injections systems, racing tires, cam shafts and racing fuel . Now it is sensors and glass
I suppose if I bought a later body the lens collection would look smaller.
Appreciate the comment

This person should go to prison then hell when she dies in my humble opinion

I do not race, hunt, haunt bars, visit Establishments patronized by sophisticated gentlemen, massage parlors.
Soooooooooooo I guess a lens or 3 a year puts me ahead of the game. I can sell the 28-135 and 18-200, and add another 1D mark something next year.
Thanks for stopping by!

seems like you have a lot of over lap in the focal lengths you look covered

Yep, I do. a friend wants the 28-135 EF and the 18-200 is marked for extinction.
My daughter shoots Canon gear ( ironic eh) so she may get some use, if not there is always ebay/craigs list.

Just a bit of a dig at myself really, Bruce. I bought a N.k.n 85mm 1.4 about a month ago after much procrastination, for its legendary bokeh, and I couldn't wait to get it.... Guess what? It hasn't been on a camera yet! Enjoy your trip but watch out for that fresh air...I've heard it can be addictive! Cheers, Rob.

The cost is not as much of an issue as hauling glass.
No spring chicken these days.

Virginia and the Smokey Mountains and Blue Ridge mountains are sure to show opportunities this sand bar lacks.

Enjoy your new glass, I find new gear euphoric.

I would consider selling the 18-200mm and using the proceeds to finance a good diagonal fisheye

Thanks for stopping by.
I have 2 I would consider losing. The proceeds go in to my "next ______ fund"
The cost of credit is simply too high.
