Bit the bullet and bought the 70-200 2.8L glass I have been lusting after. A month after I bought the 10-22 lens I had been wanting.
I think (HOPE) I have ever bit of glass I can reasonably expect to use.
Now. the question.
HOW DO I STOP buying camera glass?
70-200 2.8L
100-400 3.5L
18-200 EFS
28-135 EF
10-22 EFS
100 2.8 EF Macro

Move to Jersey, you couldn't afford the taxes.

Hummm..... If you can afford it and actually USE the glass -- go for it. Better lust after glass and satisfy that than things that are more dangerous kinds of fun. Plus, you are treating yourself to some great adventure potential with your arsenal. If you ever feel this is a problem, ping me and I'll invent some 12 step program where I relieve you of the stuff starting with that last L goodie you got.
Enjoy, fella.... but please share pix.
Happy for YOU.
Yesterday was my first trip to the real B&H store in NYC and I drooled on all the stuff I'd like to have in my kit!

I live on LI, 900 bucks a month in property tax is quite sufficient!

The limit is not how much can you afford, it's how much you can carry.
I didn't see a Lens Baby. You can't be creative without one. - Dave

Quite a posse. How about posting a capture with each.
Bruce, asking a Photographer if they have enough/too much glass, is like asking Imelda Marcos if she had too many shoes !!
Sorry I don't think I am going to help.
Well that 18-200 might be surplus to requirements.
And in a push you even have the range of the 70-200 covered but not at F/2.8 and it is a very nice lens.
But I don't see an 8-15mm fish, a 50mm F/1.4 or a tilt/shift in there anywhere.
I think you stop buying when you have all the bases covered that you want to cover.
For some that is 1 lens, for others it could easily be 12.
I have 7 or 8 for my 5D2 and still want a couple or 3 more.
I did read on here the other day someone who has 38 or 56 or something like that.

Thank you for this fresh perspective.
Alas I am "getting older" and my SHERPA like ability to carry gear is waning.

Appreciate your comments. I am still toying with the 10-22
a lens I really like. ( COME ONNNNNNNNN Vacation!)
Tilt Shift is of no great interest, although a fish eye might come in to my possession next holiday season.

I see your point, During my stint as a mechanic I never needed professional help in determining if I had enough tools. ( more tools = bigger tool box= more room for more tools etc, ad-nasuem)
I guess I just need a bigger camera bag :)
YUMMY!!
But If I bought that, I would have to live in it!
