Oh my gosh, Erv, this is soooo excellent! I don't blame Janny for not letting you or anyone touch it! How many years have you been married now?

This is my best carving I have every done in my eyes. I did this one for Janny and gave it to her on our 30th wedding anniversary. You were lucky to see this one. She lets no one touch it.:):) Not even me. She put it down, I shot it and it was gone.:) This piece is out of Teak wood. And it took me 4 try's and about 80 hours to get one I liked.
Erv
For got to add, this is one piece of wood.

Very beautiful Erv. Janny knows priceless when she sees it.

Thank you !! I didn't carve for a few months after I got this one finished. Every time I would start some thing it just looked like a kid did it with two left hands.:) But an oak leaf fell next to me one night and I got a piece of wood and did a little one of it. That got me going again.:)

Erv your one heck of a man with all kinds of talent. Teak wood is very hard. What kind of blade did you use? Carbide?

Hi hal. Just old carving blades. Nothing special. I just keep them really sharp. I did use a razor blade to scrap the leaves when they got thiner. And did a lot of really light handed sanding at the end.
