Which Gun Do I Need

I'm going rock hunting next month, just wondering what would be the best gun to use?

Mouse sized rocks prefer .22 long or long rifle
Rat sized rocks will benefit from 22 magnum.
Now for a DOG size rock a .30-30, .30-40 Kraig or a .35 Remington.
For a small pony sized rock a ,444 marlin , .45-70 or .45-90 would be approprate
For a horse sized rock I prefer the .300 win Mag or .338 win mag.
The moose sized rocxk requires the venerable 458 mag or perhaps a drilling in .416 Rigby or even a Nitro Express.
Larger than that you need to mail order Ahmed for an RPG

I have a friend who is a taxidermist. I can get you a good deal on having it mounted if you bag a large one. :roll: :lol: I really hope someone new to UHH doesn't read some of this. In case they do all I can say is we do discuss photography on occasion. :thumbup:

For pesky rocks like Mount Rushmore RED EYE Shoulder fired ROCKets would work, or Stinger missles, also shoulder fired, perhaps 106mm recoiless.
As to where to display ypour mounted rocks, that will have to be between your wife and her designer

Take several. You never know what you might want to shoot. Consider your environment. Will you be carrying with your new sling? In holsters? Or concealed in your photographer's vest? What kind of lens will you be using? Will you be shooting close-up or long distance? If shooting at night, you may want to suppress your flash.

How about a small .22 pistol with bird shot shells in it for snakes. I live in an area with rattle snakes. Seldom see one, never threatened by one, but I am ready if I come across an aggressive one. It is always better to have and not need than need and not have. I tend to collect pudding stones. Found a 300 lb. dandy and trying to get permission from the Government to claim it.

I have seen too much destruction of rocks in my life time. From giant machinery crushing, to explosive annihilation and now someone going out and hunting innocent rocks with guns. It breaks my heart that people can be so cruel and cold. Rocks should be left alone in peace. Please join me this April 2013 to march in protest against this senseless hunting.
