Yes, but if he doesn't have a cable box, he's paying for tv service that he's not using - and at a higher price than $39/month. A conundrum!

Yes but the Jerry's problem is that he subscribes and uses so many things and it gets very confusing.

But if he is paying Spectrum for TV too then he should be able to use the Spectrum TV app for free.

I have a ROKU tv with all kind of Apps on it out of the box, one being Spectrum. That is what I was talking to Jerry about earlier in this post. They start you out with cheaper prices on tv and internet for about 12, or 18, or even 24 months and then they all go up at once. I found out talking to Spectrum that if you get the right person to talk to they will give you the current lower prices right then if your payment history is excellent. If you get a new guy or some other guy they will tell you that they can't do that. My Son has told them that if you want to keep me you need to lower my prices or I'm gone!

My wife goes into orbit every time we get the Spectrum bill. Bundle cable TV (silver package), internet and land line.

I dread calling Spectrum, but I'll do that later. Maybe.

Can someone explain this to me? My Spectrum bill lists Cable TV and Internet, with separate charges for each. I do not get any local stations - NBC, ABC, etc. - and I watch TV with Roku, Chromecast, or Amazon Firestick. I have the Internet available for computers and landline. So, what do you think I'm paying for? If I call Spectrum, and if they are able to give me an answer, I'll let you know.

How much do they charge you for television? Are you paying something like $40 a month? If so, then I believe you use in the spectrum app for TV which is either 30 or $40 a month.

What I do is I have spectrum Internet only and then I use YouTube TV for television which includes local channels, sports channels, etc.

Sounds like you have cable boxes under your TVs, maybe your not using them, when we get Spectrum in the summer in our camper we skip the TV boxes and use ;YouTube Tv and Hulu, lot cheaper that way

That's what we have at home, for a couple of channels that are not on you tube tv

The Spectrum TV app will not be free, with or without Roku as the conduit for reaching the internet.

When you pay for internet service only as I do, the Spectrum TV Stream costs $39.99/month (where I live), after a free trial.

I've been paying $49.99/month since May for TV. When I connect the Roku later today, I'll be able to watch TV. I thought I was getting Internet only. Surprise, surprise!

Paperless billing has its drawbacks. Now, I get paper bills for everything.

Last year, it was $202. This year, it's $120. I thought I had corrected that $220.

I LovetheMts, too.

OK - I thought the point of your thread was that you are calling Spectrum to find out why your bill went from $100+ to $200+

Mine went up $30 because the govt subsidy expired (didn't even last a year - making broadband affordable).

When I call about a price increase, they always say it was a normal price increase. Gee, I never thought of that. 🤣

If your Roku doesn't load the Spectrum app when you attempt via your television, use your computer and go online to your Spectrum account:

log into your account on the Spectrum website, and find the place where Roku is mentioned under supported devices for the Spectrum tv app.

I installed from there, then went to back to my tv and Roku, and was able to add the app.
