If your Roku doesn't load the Spectrum app when you attempt via your television, use your computer and go online to your Spectrum account:

log into your account on the Spectrum website, and find the place where Roku is mentioned under supported devices for the Spectrum tv app.

I installed from there, then went to back to my tv and Roku, and was able to add the app.

Thanks.

Thank you for the heads up. We just got Spectrum in our area, didn’t have much for internet. We live in the country. They installed fiber to our house. Went from DSL speeds of 15MBPS to 500 MBPS. We stream YouTube TV, and other services. Internet is $49.00 per month. Cellular service is $94.00 for two phones. It will be interesting to see what our rates will be after our first year is done.

Spectrum charges you for Cable TV if you have it. You can have Spectrum Internet without Cable TV and thus would be a lot cheaper. I have all the standard network TV like ABC, NBC, CBS and PBS via the antenna.

With the exception of PBS I find the other networks to be garbage TV. The commercials alone drive me up a wall. I find streaming networks, that I am willing to pay for on a selective basis, much more entertaining and informative.

I always want the local stations. I don't mind the commercials. A lot paid stuff still have commercials. I looked into Netflix as I like 4K but I wouldn't want to watch anything they offer.

I have Optimum or Altice. Altice bought Optimum and it was also called Cablevision. I pay $320 a month now I found out the other day that we were bought out by Spectrum. If Spectrum raises the bill I am going back to the fire stick. And I get a discount because my cell phone is with them. No way I can keep paying these outrageous prices. I’m retired 24 years now I get the cost of living every year on my birthday it comes out to$20.00 that’s not a mistake it is twenty dollars!!! I live in the town of Hempstead the person that runs the town of Hempstead it was in the paper yesterday they gave him a raise they said it was a cost of living raise they gave him $16,000.00 what balls!!!!!

I don't know how you count your retirement years, but I retired in 1999, and I figure I'm in my 25th year. I discovered that being retried is better than working.

I used to live a few miles south of you - East Rockaway. It was a great place to grow up.

I used to have spectrum, since switched back to Metronet. I use a local antenna for my local stations and my fire cube for everything else. All I had with them was internet. It sounds like they are charging you for services you don't have. I had a 2 year special with 500 mbps for 39.00 a month. MetroNet charges me 55.00 with a discount while Spectrum after the special went to 69.95 a month.

I retired at the age of 56 I worked 31 years for New York City Transit in the construction trades. I hated that job but the benefits was why I stayed. I was a maintenance supervisor the last ten years I was there. I did enjoy the job at one point When I worked as Back-HOE Operator and I operated different size Pay-Loaders.

Many paid streaming services have commercials too. I enjoy the free off the air channels.

I got the Roku set up last night, but I can't record anything. I might pay for the DVR. Unfortunately, Tivo doesn't work with Spectrum any longer. I like being able to use one remote for the TV and Roku.
