Not necessarily just joining. Making rude comments seems to be how some people roll. When I see a post by several people, I don't even read it. I know that people have left UHH because of the unnecessarily nasty comments. I'd like to see Admin drop people who make gratuitous nasty comments.

As long as there are some of the nicest folks I have seen on the Internet on here it is certainly worth staying. You are always going to find some folks that take out their frustrations in life on folks especially when they can do it anonymously. I pity them but I am not going to let them take the joy away from me that I get from this site. You can't imagine how refreshing it is to find a site where most people are very helpful and very civil.

Apparently, Harry doesn't look at the date either

If I know how UHH works, Harry would have had to pull up pages from years ago to dig this one up. It can be done. Out of curiosity I did some research on dirtpusher (whom I haven't seen post in awhile) and found that he originally started on UHH by posting photos, and they're available to be seen. Although a decade old, one could make a comment on one of those photos and bring it right up to page one of whatever section it was on.

I had not come across dirtpusher and since we have something in common I took a look. (S)he's been active as of a few months ago but most of the posts are in the attic, which I don't frequent.

FYI...His dirt pushing was not on the farm. He was involve in heavy equipment.

I have a story for you. My Mom grew up on a farm (half section) in Kansas about 10 miles from Abilene. After graduating from h.s. she got a job in a business supply store in Salina in 1945. She was 19. My Dad was an Army Officer, 27, stationed on a base nearby. He met Mom while picking up an order for the base from the store. The first time they met they talked for three hours. Over the next three months they saw each other every day but one and go married at the base chapel. He parents were not too happy. However, Dad came out to the farm on leave and they saw how great a worker Dad was. After that they felt that Dad hung the moon.
