Luck is great, but for most of photography, it's really just about whether you're using a Canon.

lol, good thought! đź‘Ť

OMG, I could never live without a USA Gear Strap with pouches for an extra battery and memory cards.

When you think all the brands are the same, you own the wrong brand.

Really, as I mentioned previously, what it all boils down to personal preference (although I must admit that the comparison you made strikes me rather amusing). To each his own; you use what you like, I’ll use the kind I like. The original question was just asking for opinions, so I gave mine. Doesn’t bother me if your likes are different than mine. (Perhaps I did throw in a few teasing comments, but playful teasing/arguing is one thing I find hard to resist when the opportunity presents itself)
Really, as I mentioned previously, what it all boi... (show quote)

I agree with EVERYTHING in your current post and am pleased that you found amusement in mine. After all, OPINIONS are just OPINIONS.

Uh oh, I smell the beginnings of a brand war in which I won't engage because I know mine is the best! Hands down! No doubts!

I’m sure your cameras are good too. I like Canon cuz that’s what I use, but Canon isn’t the only good brand. I don’t know what you use, but I’m sure it’s good. I’ve played with Nikon and Sony and I didn’t like the Nikon too well (not saying Nikon is a worse brand, only that I personally wasn’t very fond of it), but the Sony seemed pretty good. If I would get a second brand, it’d probably be Sony, but for now I’m content with my 2 Canon cameras

If you're happy, I'm happy. I like many brands but don't be offended if Canon is not on my list and I will refrain from pushing my brand on anyone else (as some members do ad naseum).

The great thing about opinions is that we can all be right!

I still have an old wide (2 1/8 inch) Minolta strap from my SLR days, which I continued to use when I moved to a Sony DSLR, first an A100 and then an A65, but since going mirrorless, currently a Sony a6500, I've opted for a narrower (1 1/8 inch) Sony strap as the wide Minolta strap just looked out of place and besides, with the lighter camera, the need for a wide strap sort of went away.

My 1st camera was a 35mm Argus C3. (Yep, had a rangefinder and an interchangeable lens.) (standard 35mm and a telephoto) Still have it, but the telephoto got lost in shipping. My first SLR was a Pentax ( no built in meter) I haven't yet bought a mirrorless,........ but there's still time.

8 pages in and you’re questioning this post that at least mentions a strap?

And exactly where in the aforementioned comment...

...did the poster "mention a strap"?

I also choose not to advertise the type of camera I am using, so I change the strap. Furthermore, I buy a strap (wide because I find them more comfortable) that has a metal line through it to make it less likely that someone can come up behind me and cut the strap and run with my camera. There is not much I can do if someone wants the camera enough to club me over the head and take the camera.

Some insurance via Smith & Wesson might help.
