8 pages in and you’re questioning this post that at least mentions a strap?

Yes...and I don't see the word "strap" anywhere in that post. Nice try Superfly!

And exactly where in the aforementioned comment...

My 1st camera was a 35mm Argus C3. (Yep, had a rangefinder and an interchangeable lens.) (standard 35mm and a telephoto) Still have it, but the telephoto got lost in shipping. My first SLR was a Pentax ( no built in meter) I haven't yet bought a mirrorless,........ but there's still time.

...did the poster "mention a strap"?

The previous post kinda ran into that one for me. Either way, 8 pages in it’s pretty funny to get uptight about a comments subject matter.

Yeah, I’m not hear to respond on your schedule. Your no less insufferable either way.

Oh, that's OK. I know you can't help it. You just need to brush up on reading skills, people skills, and stop being so anxious to enter a snarky post and embarrassing yourself.

Don't let the noise of other people's opinions stop you from having the wrong one.

I use an Optech strap on my cameras. I see no need to advertise what kind of camera I’m using to anyone interested in relieving me of it. I used a strap that I got in Vietnam, till it gave up the ghost about 6 or 7 years ago. Went with an Optech, and added a second one when I got another camera. I also used a “Trekking” harness to get the load off of my neck and onto my shoulders, until I left it in Victoria Canada on a tour of the Canadian Rockies a few years ago. Tried to replace it, but it’s not being made anymore. BUMMER!

Clever but you'll probably draw the wrath of CHG_CANON.

I also use Canon originals (partly because they make it obvious that my cameras are CANON. Just reading the comments, apparently not everyone likes to display the camera brand, but I don’t mind). Never tried anything else, cuz I never considered it necessary. Reminds me of the saying “You can’t fix it if it’s not broken” :) But to each his own. Different people have different likes, so I can’t promise that everyone would like them

The Canon branded straps are short and are primarily intended as neck straps although you could use them on a shoulder if you don't mind carrying your camera above your hip. However, they are useless as a cross body strap.

Interesting that if we don't don't do it your way, we're doofuses.

That's not the only reason.
