Last night I was wondering it it has something to do with making different size wooden pulleys? For belt drive machinery?

Nope, it doesn't cut anything.

I had never heard of these devices and the need they fulfill.

I assume, since the disk are different sizes…they would be used to drill different size holes.

Sorry Bruce, but it doesn't cut anything.

I had never heard of these before or the need for them, There is an explanation associated with this display with the answer. But I thought I should probably google it to be sure it was real. When I googled it there are lots of these but they don't look like these do. I'm thinking these may be the internals of the device which these are a part of. But they were common enough that they are collectable. There appear to be a lot of collectors.

If someone doesn't guess this by tomorrow (and I doubt they will) I'll post the answer.

Ok. When I looked closely at the “disk” it looked like three knife blades attached to each “disk.” There is a machinist vice on top.

That's what I thought when I looked at it but they apparently have a different use and closer inspection will show the "blades" are not all alike.

No, if I'm to believe the explanation, they are used primarily in the warmer months.

So similar to a tool assortment on table saw attachment to advance piece of wood with notches. different sizes adapters for different spaces between .... Not Amish, just thinking though. It does seem heavy duty though.

Close but no cigar. Am going to post what it really is with some confusing information which I'll attempt to explain.
