Saw this in a hardware store yesterday. It's obviously a piece of precision equipment that was popular in the early 20th century in a major segment of our economy.

There are 8 separate devices here and for a size reference, the largest is about 6-7 inches in diameter. The white cord is not part of it.

Grain farm, dairy farm, or livestock farm (e.g. sheep, pigs)?

Reuss, looks like it could have been used for facing / dressing seats on old flanged gate valves. Different sized dies for different diameter pipes....steam pipes, maybe, or not, maybe just water pipes.

Won't say for sure because many farms are multi-functional. The clue has reduced the field substantially already.

Because it's Christmas and I'm in a giving mood, I'll pass on another clue. I found this in a hardware store in Amish country in north central Ohio. It was a display, not for sale and had a sign that said "What is this?"

I assume, since the disk are different sizes…they would be used to drill different size holes.
