Two questions:

1 - Those of you that have written favorable comments, aren't you concerned about the Chinese app you have to install in order to do business with TEMU?

2 - Can't our software experts determine exactly what the TEMU app does in our devices?

No app needed, I shopped on their web site via my PC...

I know that, the point was that moving manufacturing from Asia to the US will cause products to become much more expensive. On the electronics side, rare earth minerals are mostly controlled by China. They have the largest reserves but they also control the mining rights from some countries with large supplies. I know that research is going on to change the way semiconductors are created using new materials that do not need rare earth minerals.

Like Ufauxreal, I have bought several items from TEMU, the most expensive being a small rechargeable tire inflator for about $16 that works great. We also bought some stretchy seat covers for some bar stools that were a perfect fit. Been perfectly happy with most of the gadgets so far. But I believe that returning them to China would be cost-prohibitive so I have my fingers crossed that it won't be necessary.

Temu is almost an identical site to wish.com. More so than Amazon...

Access to it from the state of Alabama computers are blocked due to cybersecurity. I have access to the hospital LIS that I work for from my home computer. I don't want to compromise that system and patient records, so will not go to their site.

I have bought from Temu three times. I have been satisfied with the products. One of which was a pair of shoes. The ads on Temu give the sizes but not the widths. (I have a EE width). I chatted with them about this but did not receive coherent response. I took a chance because of the price and the shoes fit well. I have been warned by others that returns are a problem and they are uncooperative when trying to return. I have a hand held steamer that I am trying to return now so I will have to see what happens. The only other problem that I have with them is that the orders seem to come from China rather than a U.S. redistributor. That makes the time from placing the order to receipt of the product much longer. The aforementioned steamer took 8 days to arrive from China, If I ordered the same steamer from Ebay I would have had it in 3 or 4 days.

They seem to be on a trajectory to attempt an overtake of Amazon. But, are their products any good? I realize most are probably manufactured in China (or similar), and I suspect they are sub-par, but haven't bought any, or know of anyone who has. My question, have you? What has your experience been? Is the tool that costs $20 at Harbor Freight worth the $2.50 TEMU charges.

I bought a couple of items from them that were fine. After that, however, I read that their low prices were due to employee exploitation (e.g., forced back to back 18-hr shifts to make a living wage, child labor, of course), and although I have been baraged with emails and texts and received great a deal the first time, I won’t order from them again. I can survive with a bit less of a great deal in order to avoid supporting an exploitation system. (And, yes, I know, I’m probably unwittingly supporting other such systems, but I’ve read about this one.)

I don't believe that Temu makes an anything the same as Amazon. I have purchased many items from them...ie..clothing, horse item from my wife and I have returned a few items. They have free shipping and the returns do not go to China but to California. I have been happy with the many orders that I have placed.

I've heard criticism about Temu from people who bought from them. Shoddy mdse, no response to messages, hard if not impossible to return. Personally I stay away from them.

Glad you have had a good experience with them. Maybe they have reacted to customer comments. Good job!

Yes, they are good tools, and yes they are made in China. The only problem I've had was on some bit driver extensions came apart. The rest of the products have held up to regular use. I've been buying from the them almost exclusively this year. Many of them are the same as on Amazon only much less expensive.I would like to buy American, but if it's made in China, anyway, why pay more than you have to? Shipping is affected by the time of year, mm most orders arrive in 10 days and is free. If the order is later than their delivery window you get a $5 credit.
