Am I in any trouble if I post a warning sign.
You can post a sign but don’t confuse people with threats. Just have a plumber place a shut off valve inside your home.

The neighbor tends to use my water faucet to water her lawn. What happened if I put a warning sign on the faucet saying something like "DANGER! Do not use. May cause serious injury or death!". Am I in any kind of trouble for doing so?
Sounds like you are looking for a legal opinion. If you want one, pay for one. Otherwise you are only getting internet legalese, which is worth what you pay for it.
Unscrew and remove the faucet handle
Jam a plug far down in her hose .

The replies offer better ideas.
Tell us a little about ur neighbor. Past relationship/confrontations with her. Why would she do this. Has she asked if it was ok. If you don’t care then forget about it. Where you live. (City and state). Etc

FIVE PAGES on this foolishness??????? Unbelievable!!!
Can you remove the knob? That's the cheapest way to go. There are many water spigot locks available.

You are right. I missed that.
This is really stupid. My grandchildren are not supposed to say 'stupid', but I can't resist.
Your 'threat' of serious injury or death' could be a problem. Just because someone trespasses OUTSIDE your home does not give one the right to 'boobytrap' to cause harm. The threat alone may be problematic.
Your claimed purpose of pissing them off, yet allowing them to continue to use your water, seems to be your problem and not one they care about. If I were them, I would hook up a solid heavy duty hose; bring it over to their property; put a multiple hose outlet manifold on the end; and offer other neighbors the use of 'their water'--even maybe for a slight fee. And if they are nice--they might put a dual outlet on your hose bib so you can use water too.

A simple solution is to take the handle off the valve.
Take the handle off the faucet.
