I was in a street market and wanted to try capture the colourful canvas roofs of some of the stalls. I didn't have a camera with me so whipped out my iPhone 10. I only took two shots and when I got home I downloaded them on to my PC. I was startled to see the second photo. How could this have happened??

It's nothing to do with my PC. The photo is as you see it on my iPhone.

Check to see if your phone is on HDR mode. I have an iPhone SE and took a photo of a slightly moving train and got a similar effect on the bottom on my photo. It isn't as pronounced on my photo, but similar.

That's very common in huge Gigapixel images of moving things. The like below shows NYC. If you zoom in to moving people or objects, you will see them split. Doing an online search might find you some, but I couldn't find any right now.

Thanks for your comments. I think that this will remain a mystery. I'm attaching the first photo where you can see the woman in the white Tshirt a little way back.

Now I have this on a large screen, I see there's some defects in this photo too. But I can understand this. It looks like camera shake.

Some serious defects! The woman in the straw hat in the center has no bottom half. My guess is the processor is having trouble. Have you tried to take any pictures since these two?

Not sure what happened, but I once had only half a car appear in a photo at a street corner, the front half had simply failed to register in the photo. I blamed it on an app I was using on my phone.

I’m just guessing: Your memory chip may be filled to max capacity, and dumped part of the photo load on another file.

It's nothing to do with my PC. The photo is as you see it on my iPhone.

Has it happened again, after the photo safari ?
If so something is wroung with the camera, if not maybe the camera was set in an inbetween setting just that day.

An apple bug for sure. I think the first shot is great. I spend hours trying to create a shot like that in PS. I would hope it does that again and get a new phone camera

Yup, no doubt you have documented an on-going time warp.
