Not sure how reliable this specs are:
Curb Weight - 3,647 lbs.
Engine - 6.2L - 495 HP
0-60 - 2.8 sec.
1/4 mile - 11.2 secs - 122 MPH
Top Speed - 184 MPH
Mileage - 15/27 MPG

Don

The specs are probably accurate being this, the race car model, that shared it's small block flat plane crank engine ultimately with it's street version, the Z06. And, the Z06 is capable of those performance figures. Nice pics Don!

I think it's the best Vette yet! Nice photos too.

No offense meant, but when I was selling cars (a long time ago) my boss told me "there's an ass for every seat" and he was right. I sold cars that I didn't think any one would want, just like he said.

I'm glad to learn that I'm not the only one who is not in favor of the design of the new mid-engine Vettes. It my opinion, the new bright blue color is the worst choice of all for this generation of Corvettes.

No reflection on you Don. Great shots, but I think this car is ugly...the color combination...the whale tail (even though I'm sure it's functional)...the black wheels (look like they were painted by a little kid). I know this is going to draw the ire of many viewers, but I really dislike this Corvette, immensely. I'm not talking about performance. I know that it's a world-class car, finally, and best bang-for-the-buck and all that, but I'm talking about curb appeal, to me. Yuck!!!!

After reading all the comments you seem to be in the majority Ray. I agree for the most part, certainly not the lines of say the classic '63 split window but I don't find it totally ugly. I am not the level of car buff that can tell you all the differences between all the "C" class vettes, rebuild an engine, etc but this car does have a certain appeal to me. I think that Chevy made the commitment to racing and that mentality is what goes into the new build Vette's. I greatly appreciate you expressing your opinion your comment on the images, Thanks!

AGREED! I like Corvettes in general, and even own a 2000 C5, but this generation of Vette (C8), does absolutely nothing for me! I can appreciate all of the technical “nice-ities” that went into making it, but I don’t even bother to look at them when I go to car shows. I could go on and on, but we’ll just leave it right there.
Andy

Appreciate you taking the time to comment Grump. Please see my comment to Ava's Papa (Ray), you are in the majority.

Beautiful photography, Don! Looks very European. It is all theoretical for me, there is no way that I could get in and out of one of these.

Thanks for the nice comment Mike. I could still get in and out BUT it might take awhile!

Excellent job with the photos. I like corvettes but don't like the looks of this one.

Join the majority club Paul, not a widely accepted Vette. Appreciate the kind comment on the images though.

I also agree great pictures of a look alike euro sports car. I own a C5 Vette from the time when GM dared to be different, stand out in the crowd with great looks and performance at a semi affordable price.

The looks have certainly changed longmg. Wish I could have owned one at one time but those days are gone. Thanks for the kind comment regarding the images.

I agree. Nice pics, performance is awesome...looks...not so much.
Especially if I compare it to the XKE from yesterday, now that is a beautiful car or even the earlier Corvette from '53.
The Stingray from '63 is also a beauty.

That seems to be the consensus bbrown5154, performance great but no classic lines. You mentioned the XKE's, loved that car, the JAG's of the mid 60's. Almost bought one decades ago but we couldn't come to terms. The for the kind remark concerning the images.

You are in the minority Gary, most of the comments are "great images, looks of the car, not so much". Thanks for the kind comment.
