So when it is all said and done, the only thing and I do mean the only thing is your weather. but when Ca. finally goes tits up. stay there don't you dare move to my Texas or some other state and bring your disasters with you, you deserve to wallow in your disaster of a failed Dem. state.

The reality of Obama's agenda is to fulfill his fathers dream. Which was to bring American and the western way to its knees. All should be equal. Sorry but I think we are a superior nation of very bright and accomplished. Liberals want to cry and whine and get stuff for free. To the liberal society, (unfortunately CA) Barak O'claus is going to give them everything that we used to have work for and create. Well in 4 years that bastard will be gone and we can get back on track. Unfortunately California is a goner, it can fall into the ocean.

John, I have been in CA for 60 years, from birth. You are spot on. This state has gone to hell.

Bmac, forget it. The minds are closed. They will always believe that Bush policies destroyed the economy, even though those policies resulted in a strong economy until Obama became senator and his democrats took over congress and the purse strings. Try getting one of them to explain exactly what bush policies killed the economy, and how. Impossible without hearing just dem talking points. They will always give Clinton credit for a balanced budget even though it was forced on him, kicking and screaming, by the Gingrich congress and the Contract with America. They will always think the GOP is obstructing progress even though there are over a dozen GOP jobs bills being obstructed by Harry Reid's democratic senate.

Give it up Bmac, you are wasting your time pointing out reality. They are right -Obama has won. There is a bit of truth along with the ton of buulcrap in the reasons they've given, but he still won. We have to face up to a new America, driven by self-ism, where character and responsibility no longer play a role. The GOP is losing the propaganda war, and will get blamed no matter what, so I suggest they back off and give BO whatever he wants. Vote present on his bills. And then one of two things will happen. Either we succeed to stand back up as a country, which would surprise half the population. Or more likely, the GOP will try to put the pieces back together after we hit bottom. Hopefully not too late.

Isn't that just wonderful that there are so many Republican governors ? All I care about is that we now have a TOTALLY Democratic state government, from Governor and Legislature down, and are pulling out of the economic problems Bush's policies caused. No, I take that back. I am also eager to see Obama kick ass now that he doesn't have to worry about reelection politics. Where California goes -- upwards into much better things under Brown -- the rest of the nation will soon follow, except of course for some of the really backward states like Alabama and Texas.

What has begun to amaze me is the enormous amount that Obama actually accomplished during his first three years of the presidency. Read all about it in The New New Deal. Most of the telling of this was lost in the lying static Romney and the Republicans did, but these facts are now beginning to become evident.

Get used to Obama, because he is here for another 4 years plus, and now he will really kick ass.

their political party is falling to pieces beneath their very feet,.......

The Republicans control the House of Representatives.

The Republicans presently have 30 governors compared to the Democrats 20. There are 27 Republican-controlled State Legislatures (both houses) compared to 15 Democratic-controlled Legislatures.

There are presently 22 Republican-controlled state governments, meaning control of the governor's office and both chambers of the legislature, compared to 11 for the Democrats.

Hardly a political party falling to pieces. Ironic that this poor party, in such dire straits, is used by so many as the new excuse for Obama's failed policies. So weak, and yet so powerful? Maybe it is due to Obama's weak leadership, otherwise how could such a destroyed party inhibit him? 8-)

the republicans could have run any decent candidate and won.
they chose to run a religious bigot and fool. they should have picked up seats in congress but instead lost them because they ran religious bigots and fools. the gop lives in some alternate universe where being crazy and refusing to use facts is the norm.
everyone assumed, including me, that the gop would win but their fatal flaw was talking about what they believe and not telling us any fact based arguments.

You make many valid points, but I enjoy destroying some of these outrageous arguments with factual references when I am able. I am optimistic and believe the country will eventually turn from Obama's failed policies. The middle class voted for Romney, and that is where the strength lies. Once the Republicans understand that voter turnout wins elections and motivates like minded individuals, the chips will fall into place. 8-)

It is hard for those of us on the West Coast to turn out when the Election is usually called Hours before the polls close.

How about you giving some fact based arguments to support your contentions? 8-)

Yes, the way elections are held and reported is a farce, in my opinion. 8-)

Who would have ever thought that a little more than half of the U.S. is too stupid to know that we're on the brink of financial collapse with a $16 trillion deficit, the re-elected President wants $1.6 trillion more already and he hasn't even been re-instated yet, ObamaCare has the potential to drive us into another recession worse that the last one, new Obama taxes will cause more job loss and more companies to leave the U.S., and that the U.S. becoming Greece is probably now less than a year away?

It's no wonder personal bankruptcies are at the highest level in the history of the U.S. Apparently a little more than half of the U.S. lives on government handouts or far above their means in absurd debt and really enjoy it when they have a government that does the same thing then tries to milk more money out of those who actually make enough to not be in debt like that.

Transvaginal probes? I didn't even hear that word during the campaigns. The only trans-anything probes I'm aware of is what Obama wants to do to the rectums of everybody in the U.S., including the middle class, during the next few months. Tighten your belt and hang on to your pants, the worst is on the way.

I know this is not my original thought on why the Republicans lost the election but I do agree that it sure is hard to run against and beat Santa Claus. The main platform for the democratic party is very simple, lie about your opponent and give out stuff, that will get us votes.

Republicans will never be able to out promise or out spend Democrats and probably won't win again until things turn really bad as it is now in Europe and in California a state run mostly by Democrats over the years.

Bmac, Yes, I used to enjoy addressing the typical democratic talking points by doing some research and finding the truth. Then I found that when I started pointing out the truth and asking them tough questions, they just quit responding, but I don't really change their minds - they come back later with the same talking points. How do you enlighten a group who will not be enlightened? This group is growing. As long as our government has the ability to buy votes with money stolen from workers, the group will continue to grow. I see no answer other than complete catastrophe. For some folks, that's the only teaching tool.

The real answer to why the republicans lost is that the republicans failed to educate the folks as to why good old fashioned American values of family, hard work, self-reliance and responsibility will ultimately make you better off, regardless of where you are in the food chain. Right now, taking it from someone else is the winning strategy.
