Very strange - I wonder how long it will endure? It isn't getting much coverage. The parking lots were full but from just friends and families as much as I could discern. Thanks, Gary.
Great action set! I had no idea this was a thing outside of the books/movies. Well shot, Elliot! Rob
Thanks, Rob. It was begun by Middlebury College in 2004. I don't know how widespread it's become. Personally, I have no interest in the sport other than it being played by someone we know.
We attended the match between Rochester University and Middlebury College in Conshohocken, PA today. Zach Sobel-Pressman (#53) is on the Rochester team; he's the grandson of close friends. I still don’t know the rules but it was a blast to watch. Here’s some information on the sport. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quidditch_(real-life_sport)
Here's a few of the photos - I put many more on Flickr for our friends to access.
So, this emulates the game in the Harry Potter series where everyone is on flying broomsticks? Prolly a lot of fun if you’re a young whippersnapper. Not so much at 80. As a child I rode my stick horse everywhere so might have done ok then. Sheesh, that was 70 years ago.
