Well darn, this is why they continue to work, at least Sandisk will.
Their reply:
"Please allow us to inform you that SanDisk SD, SDHC, microSD, and microSDHC memory cards are tested to withstand up to 72 hours in 1m salt or fresh water; IEC 529 IPX7. The product must be clean and dry before use."

EXCELLENT!!!
ALL my (12?) cards are Sandisk.

(Anyone who doesn't want their washed Sandisk cards can send them to me. )

Please don't try to save that chip as one of your backups. It could die anytime--more likely than any others you have.
