I am not so sure about that. When I was a teenager my right arm made it through. The wringer we had did not have an auto stop so yelling to my mother to help me out brought the wringer to a halt.

I’m really trying to remember this, but I believe the really old ones with the square gray tub and spindly legs had a lever on top of the wringer that you were supposed to rotate 90 degrees to get it to release the pressure on the rollers and whatever body part you had stuck in it. This usually didn’t work so on the later white and red models had a red tripper on both sides that you would strike with your free hand to release the pressure on the rollers. This didn’t work either, meaning most kids and mothers managed to run their fingers, hands, arms and hair through it at least once. For most kids, it only took one time to remember to stay clear. Mommas weren’t so fortunate and most had multiple encounters with the dreaded wringer.

I did open my 4Gb SDHC card. The ICs are the memory, I'll bet the memory controller is under the rectangular epoxy blob. The other biddy things are resistors and capacitors. Looks like more circuitry under the right IC, but I'm not going there. The interface connector is on the underside on the left.

As for the washed card, I'll bet that if water did get through the case, since the card was not under power, there was no electrolysis on the contacts/components. Since the exposure to water was not long, and the card went through a dry cycle, I''ll go with a 95+% confidence that there was no corrosion to speak of.
I'd use the washed card (but not the one below.....).

I have a query into Sandisk, but I'll bet that the card case is not waterproof/resistant because of the write protect tab. I hope they give a good reply and not just a CYA "replace it".....

((For those who want to know, the picture was taken with my old Sony H1 in macro mode. SOOC for the others who care.))

The whole thing boils down to how well the card is dried out before putting electrical current thru the card. I once jumped out of my boat and forgot my pager I heard a beep beep and immediately removed the battery and hung the pager in the sun two days later I put a new battery in it and it work for another two years at which time I lost it while mowing my one acre yard I found it the following summer after it had been replaced, Installed a new battery and it powered up.

Exactly!
That's why I would continue to use the washed card in this instance.

Too late to edit my comment above:
I found that the TC58NVG4D2FTA00 chips in the card in my photo are each 4Gbx8bit EEProms.
So the card can support 16 bit addressing. Interesting.

I tried to "open" a Micro Sd card this morning without destroying it, No luck, I watched a you tube video and found you scrape the label side of the card, But I doubt it can be done destroying the card.
Oh well I'll have to find something else to do today.

They are two plastic halves, kinda like a sandwich, glued together.
Yea, the "lid" to mine didn't survive either.
But at least I confirmed my suspicions of what was inside.
The 4Gb card came with the camera, 12 years ago. It never was used much in the past few years.

No halves to the MICRO,the one you need an adapter to fit a camera or reader. I have opened an SD card like yours with no problem.
The only Micro sd's I have are in use in my phone and my GPS, plus one extra.

All my micros are 64Gb. Not chopping one of them yet.
I guess a laser knife would be handy for them.

That's an SD card not a MICRO SD, size 15mmX10mm

Sorry, I was referring to a normal SDHC card.

Right I missed the micro part. Those are too small lol. I am guessing similar packaging to the SD format.
