Phew! . As I said in an earlier post, it probably depends on your monitor resolution. Start at the one that's marked "Current" and move up from there, one step at a time.

Thanks....all set here

Still haven't heard back from Kathy. I hope it's because she's OK and is now busy............

I'm sure you'll hear from her. This bit of "Preference" knowledge is a "new" best setting for the pre and post cataract/Lr population. Thanks again.

(I thought I mention.....I’m scheduled to have what most photographers dread…..cataract surgery…starting on Monday, Dec 5th left eye, and Dec 19th right eye. So, for this weekend….(and December) I will not “see” a lot of photographic activity since most of the time will be spent in preparation/recovery for these operations. Instead of a new camera, I'm getting new eyes for Christmas!)

Hey, thanks. They had some good suggestions. I tried one, and it actually made it TOO large! I'll have to work on this some more.

Try CTL-

The hold the Control key and tap the minus key.
See if that works.

(CTL+ to enlarge)

Unfortunately it doesn't work for WSFTP.....

That works on the size of the image in the center section, but has no affect on the text on either side.

Ah, finally! It's working again. Hitting "enter" when I couldn't see the OK button worked. Thanks, EG! I'm back at small text, but I know how to change it. I'm going to try "medium" and see if it works. I think in mine the "automatic" must have been on "tiny!"

Interesting.

I had cataract surgery last year and it inverted my glasses habits. Being nearsighted before, I needed glasses to drive, but could read without them. Now I need glasses to read but can drive without them

My surgery involved inserting a new lens. No laser stuff. The lens corrected astigmatism as well as focus.

I wear cheaters and they do OK, but not great. I occasionally have problems with small fonts. So I tried the preferences/interface/font size method. You guys must be on Windows. I'm doing this on a MacBook. I get

which only has two choices, small (default) and large. So I tried them out. The results were less than useful.

The fonts (top) are larger, but it looks like less than 10% change in size.

So it appears that this method is OS-dependent.

EDIT:

Looked around on the MacBook and found that the Displays section of the system settings has a way to increase the overall size of the images including text.

I had LR in a fairly large window. When I clicked on the one step larger than default size, it changed the window size (smaller) and made the text larger. I could easily re-size the window (the font size stayed constant).

Interesting. br br I had cataract surgery last ye... (show quote)

When I got a new monitor some months ago, I had to play with the font size. I finally got it correct. But LR fonts were suddenly tiny - a LOT smaller than I had ever noticed them being. One strange thing I noticed in this exercise today was that changing the size of the font in LR changed the size of the app icons on my Windows page!

Look forward to the new eyes. I've never heard anybody complain about the results of cataract surgery.

You're welcome. Glad you're up and running again. As you said you can adjust font size in the operating system but it affects everything. It sounds like Lr is trying to do its own thing but it looks like it still needs some work. The changes in font size should be more gradual.

Last spring I had cataract surgery. Now my glasses are a lot LESS strong than before. (And I can no longer see with my old glasses.) Now my problem is that I cannot see the text on my LR screen. Is there a way to make that text larger? I've made my e-mail text larger by simply hitting control and the scroller on my mouse. That doesn't work in LR.

I had a pair of "reading" glasses made after my Cataract surgery , they are very-focal and it took awhile to get used to them, but they work very well, or try a pair of1.5- 2.25X readers OTC purchase.

Try a pair of cheaters until you get a new Rx.

Clicks are handy if you know the diopter strength you need, they hang around your neck:

Right! My glasses cost $1.25, and I use them for reading, computer - anything close-up. No need for distance glasses anymore.

Hope it is helpful😁

If you go to LR Preferences- Interface Tab there is a drop-down menu Font Size: it goes from Automatic (default) to Small, Medium, Large 159% to Largest 250% - I tried the 250%, but the text is very large, and the work area for the image is very small - Try dropping it down to the Small or Medium. Once you change the size you have to re-boot LR for the change to take effect.

RonDavis--Hope everything turns out well for your cataract surgery. I had both eyes undergo cataract surgery this past year and I am very satisfied. I don't recall what lenses I had "installed" in my eyes, but as I have worn eye glasses since dirt was invented, with a new eye glass prescription, I am seeing very well. More importantly I have the colors white back in my life. That made quite a difference when I edited my photographs. "Ya, you betcha", as they say in Minnesota.

My take on this whole cataract removal and improved eyesight process was not finalized until my optometrist corrected my eyesight based on my new eyes.

My fix for my post cataract surgery vision was to purchase a pair of progressive focus glasses after a new refraction from my eye doc.
