Oh, the problems I am seeing for my future with all these replies. I will be getting cataract surgery after the 1st of the year and have been busy learning my options. Glasses for near sightedness since age 13, and astigmatism too.

I wear progressive lenses now and the prescription has been getting stronger and stronger, and rediculously stronger for the past few years as the changes to my eyes are starting to really kick in and now I'm at the at the point that reading from a book is even a challenge since the distance to the page is different between the middle of the page and the edges. I do much better reading from my tablet since the screen is flat.

I am leaning towards correcting for distance vision in both eyes and also correcting for astigmatism too. I have heard that adding correction for closeup sometimes leads to halos with bright lights. But things are now at the point I don't like driving at night since headlights and taillights are just a blob of smeared light. And I can't read the road signs until I am right on top of them.

I remember when I was young and looking through a telescope at night at the stars and how they were nice pinpoints of light. Not anymore. Now they are just blobs of light. I am leaning towards both eyes for distance so that I can see those stars clearly again.
Oh, the problems I am seeing for my future with al... (show quote)

I got 1.50. Everything else was way too strong.

Last spring I had cataract surgery. Now my glasses are a lot LESS strong than before. (And I can no longer see with my old glasses.) Now my problem is that I cannot see the text on my LR screen. Is there a way to make that text larger? I've made my e-mail text larger by simply hitting control and the scroller on my mouse. That doesn't work in LR.

I don't know if this helps but I gave up and had my eye doctor make me a pair of glass's just for when I'm using the computer. When I'm on the computer its great but when doing other things I have to switch back.

Yes, I'll probably do that eventually. Sometimes I don't need them to see the computer - except for LR!
