What is it with Apple and passwords? Last night, it wouldn't accept my Apple ID on my M.1. Why do I even need an ID? I paid for this thing! It's mine, isn't it? After quite a while, I straightened out the ID. Then it wanted a password. No matter what I entered, it was "incorrect." It was going to send a text to my phone. Great. I had to find the phone, turn it on, and wait for it to boot. No text. Then it said it would send a code to my email. That took quite a while, but I received it and entered it. "Incorrect." It had sent me another code in the meantime. By then, Apple was as fed-up as I was, and it gave up on me. It said to try tomorrow - or I might have to wait several days. The arrogance! This is why I have more than one computer.
I’ve never had such problems with Apple.

That's because they transferred all your problems to me.

Sounds to me like a PEBKAC issue.
You can change the password to a blank space and just hit return.
I have had that same problem many times! If you talk to tech support they can't explain it. That's the extent of the support you will get.
I don’t have a mac. I am issued an iphone and I had enough problem with apple id and password

Probably. 😉 if you’ve run a backup recently you could try wiping your device and restore from the iCloud.

There's a direct connection, keyboard to computer. The chair is on a spur line and has no real connection with anything - except maybe the floor and someone's trouser seat! That someone, however, does have a connection to the keyboard.

No issues with Apple since 1993. Currently using a 24” M1.
