I, too, am not familiar with the 48-FJ nomenclature, but that is a really cool custom! You Aussies share a lot in common with us gearheads in the USA and obviously go with the matra that "Too much is never enough" when it comes to powering our vehicles! Great set and would like to see more photos taken at this event.

One of the highlights of the weekend is a street parade of competitors in which many vehicles not usually seen on public roads can obtain a permit to take part. Wonderful set! Thanx for sharing!
Beautiful pictures.
Would be wonderful if that '48 JUNK' was a true sleeper.
Imagine seeing that bucket of rust dust-off modern slick, sharp, great looking cars and trucks. LOL

Out of all those cars, the 48 Coup is the most intriguing. I love to see more views of that custom design. Anyone recognize what car the builder started with?

Beautiful set, I'll take the last one
The babies of today Will be a sucking toxic fumes from their burned up evs when the grid explodes from being overloaded.
They are a little different down under.
Thanks to all who have responded to my post. Regarding my photo of the "48 COUP" unfortunately it is the only image that I captured at the time. I believe it started life as a 1948 Holden (General Motors Holden) similar to the turquoise one in the attached photo. The original 1948 Holden body has been seriously cut / chopped / topped and a grill from a 1953 - 1956 Fj Holden has been fitted to produce one very nice looking unique car.
A 1948 Holden (known as a 48-215 model), with original body shape but not the original wheels of the perioid.

A circa 1953-1956 Fj Holden. Note the grill similar to that fitted to the "48 COUP" in my original post.
