I get between 6-8 emails a day about Camp Lejeune - all from different domains which means you have to block each one. So far I haven't been able to set up an effective email rule to automatically route them into junk mail.

While I'm glad to see that our government has set aside funds to help victims of this situation, I think it's sad to see how hard the lawyers try to exploit those that might qualify! Must be easy money for them and they probably take at least 40% of what might be awarded. Frankly, if I thought I qualified, I'd fill out my own paperwork (it can't be that difficult) and bypass these vultures entirely. Good luck and good health to all involved.

I think you nailed it.

Don't worry. Soon, those ads will be replaced with the Medicare Advantage Plan crap. Can't hardly wait to see Joe Namath again! Not.

The law firms will take 40% of the award leaving 60% for the victims but I think the numbers are worse than they appear. If,say, the award is $100, the firm gets $40 leaving $60 for all the participants, not for each participant. So if there are 100 participants they split the $60 among them giving each of them 6 cents.

No you are not the only one. Several years ago I put my name on the list and get a report once or twice a year, at that time I wondered how long it would take the lawyers involved. It took a little longer then I thought.

What is the difference between a dead rattlesnake and a dead attorney in the middle of the road.there are skid marks in front of the snake.

We have a hockey team in our city and one day they had a refrigerant problem and there was water on the rink so they decide once it was fixed to go on lock down.no one in or out of the building hoping it would freeze by 7 pm for the game.the doors usually opened at 5pm to allow spectators to come in and start buying food and drinks before the start of the game.they decide the doors will open at 6:30pm and it worked but the outside temp is about 100 degrees outside and the line is around the block.one particular guy is restless while waiting in line for over 1 1/2 hour so the guy behind him grab the back of his neck and starts rubbing his neck so the guy turns around and asks what the hell he is doing.the guy behind him says that he is a chiropractor and is trying to relief some of his tension. The guy in front say" I am a damb attorney, you don't see me screwing the guy in front of me.

Personally, I believe that there should be justice for those harmed. What I find irritating is the "ambulance chasers" who crawl out of the dark to pursue their fortunes on the pain and suffering of victims with a constant barrage of advertisements. I ask myself, "Who will benefit the most from the awards? The law firms or the victims?"

AMEN

There others who probably are a lot sicker. Those who have one of the ailments listed in the TV ads run by various law firms trolling for business.

My prayers go out to all the Marines who served at that base, but by now, you'd think they'd all be aware of the issue.

My wife and I both served in the Marines at Camp Lejeune and both qualify. We were both notified by USMC way before the papers got hold of it. We’re both on the Marine Registry and are quite happy with the VA. What the VA can’t cover, they can send us to major Hospitals that can. And yes, I had 43 Radiation treatments at the VA 8 years ago. All gone… thank you, VA.

Yes, but on the other side, I have a very close friend who served as an officer in the Marine Corps that is undergoing this second treatment for prostate cancer at the Mayo Clinic. And how many others who have served have suffered
debilitating diseases with no knowledge of how they may have gotten in. Obviously, the government has a list of every person, civilian and military, who have served there over the years, and this should be how they are contacted. Governments are very good about telling the civilian sector how to run its affairs while failing miserably at running their own affairs! For example, every city has to have it water tested on a regular basis, so then should the same apply to government installations? Seems we have the best government that money can buy!

Most men get prostate cancer in normal life. It likely has nothing to do with Camp Lejune water. The Camp Lejune lawsuit is going to help those who legitimately have diseases from Lejune Water, plus a lot of people who don't. But mainly it's about making lawyers very rich. And guess who pays for it all-the taxpayers!
