Ordered and just received a refurbished Z6II, but the battery was missing. When I notified Nikon of the missing part, the representative had me complete a form with the camera's serial number and description of the missing part to be returned. Thought I would get an acknowledgment pretty quickly that they were sending the battery but nothing yet, so I called back to be sure the claim form was received...and it was. I asked if the 14 days inspection time would be re-set based on when the battery was received and was told NO. The battery may take a few days to process, plus shipping time. That severely cuts down on my test period since a few days have already elapsed.
So, just a heads up that Nikon does not re-set the 14-day window for returning equipment even if a part was missing from the order they sent.

A refurbished Nikon with no battery is better than a New Canon with one.

Why don’t you just use the batteries from your D600 or D750 camera during the test period? They are interchangeable aren’t they? My D500 batteries are.

Whoa, not getting in the middle of that cat fight!
Just buy another battery. You should have a spare battery anyway, especially a mirrorless camera.

Don't have them now. The trip in March was the last I used the D750.

I considered that, but don't want to waste $$ on a battery if I don't like the Z camera. Besides, I'd have to order it and wait anyway. The local stores (40 miles away) are sold out. Am I seeing that a lot of batteries are unavailable at this time?
I had the same issue with Adorama and returned the camera. I think I just didn’t have the right person on the phone as I’ve never had an issue with them previously But also never received anything with a part missing previously

Nice to see someone else tired of the constant Nikon bashing.

Just return it in the 14 day period. You did not receive merchandise in acceptable condition and you don’t even know if the camera works.

Well he said he didn't want to return because after he return the deal may not be available any more.

The situation does leave me in limbo, since I have limited window to return. I have no idea whether I will like operating this camera but I hate to miss out on the pricing opportunity. Like you, I have had positive experiences with Adorama, so, sorry to hear about your negative experience. Don't know how recent your transaction was, but speaking for myself the past several months--EVERY significant purchase I have made--whether mattress, rails, clothing, computers, cellphone--has been either defective or not according to specifications. I think there are some real issues in quality control these days.

That would be my first reaction, but a $400 savings from Nikon is significant. Haven't seen that deal before or since.
