I have thought about your issue. So here is what I would have done while waiting for a Battery, First You did the right thing by asking them about the Inspection Time would be affected. But, if you planned on keeping the Z6II, then I would just paid B&H to ship another New Nikon Brand Battery and even paid for the Overnight delivery. I say this because I know How sticky the Offers are about what they consider to bad so sad to Customers like You and I. So, if You would have bought the New Nikon Battery then You could be out there shooting away. And then if you did not like the Z6II, you could just returned it and told them, To Bad, So Sad. A lot of these Companies do not use the integrity that they say that they possess. I once bought a Canon M1, I believe that was it, and everyone told me that it would make a good Kick and Abuse kind of device for doing Street Photography while visiting my Family in Queens N.Y.. Well, I got the Camera but no Lens, I called them immediately and kind of got the same treatment. But, knowing the Guys at B&H which was not far from where I would be, I simply bought the Lens from B&H and mind You I would have to look up to see if it was the M1 but I know that it was Canon. I finally got he new Lens and since they had not sent one out yet, I told them to give me a Great Deal on the Camera, in other words give me a Great discount on a different Lens and they did. I think at times that we just get lost in their Lists of Orders so much that even they are stepping on their own feet. I'm sorry if I came off in anyway like a sidebar on Your Post. You do have a good Camera though. We have a 1500 person's Bird Group here in Michigan and we all show each other New Cameras and Gear that we have received and this one fellow whipped out His New Z6II. The BIF's that he took were Outstanding. Please keep us here at UHH apprised of this situation after it has been resolved and ask them to knock a few bucks off on your Order.
I have thought about your issue. So here is what I... (

Like how you strategize! The main attraction with the mirrorless for me is the ability to view exposure adjustments (before taking the shot) in the LCD or EVF...that, and in-body image stabilization. I miss the Exposure Bracketing button on the outside (like the D750). The rest I just have to get familiar with.
BTW, I have noticed Nikon neck straps on the cameras being used for the CSI shows.
