My wife was a Nikon only professional. However, I usually went with her. Once home I would put all of the photos on the computer for her to choose which ones to process. Every time she would hand me the numbers selected, they would be mine, taken with a Fujifilm camera. I never picked on her about it--we were both old by then, and she died in 2015, so I'm glad that I never said anything.

You have a kind heart. She must have been a lovely person for you to be so generous in supporting her efforts.

Not a good business practice, to be sure. I have to wonder, though, if they assume customers try to get something for nothing by claiming an item is missing in order to get a backup. I can sure see how that could be the case with batteries. And they, nor I, have any way to prove otherwise. Which leaves me in limbo, as I said from the outset.

If you ordered one when you started this thread, I saw several listed that ship from Amazon.com, delivered (for free) next day - you'd already be testing the camera. My point, my $.02

Granted, but when I started this thread, Nikon was supposed to be responding to me right away--which they didn't.

? Amazon for an affordable replacement battery/charger?
A day or 2 away if you check delivery for different models.

When I told KEH that my camera arrived without a charger they immediately sent one USPS first class. When I returned a lens for malfunction KEH quickly shipped one at least as nice ... with a case and hood that I had not originally ordered.

When I told B&H that one small filter was missing from a shipment of mixed small accessories, they just said yes sir ... and then *two* such filters arrived pronto.

I will spare you more unexciting tales of dealing with preferred vendors ;-)

Ordered and just received a refurbished Z6II, but the battery was missing. When I notified Nikon of the missing part, the representative had me complete a form with the camera's serial number and description of the missing part to be returned. Thought I would get an acknowledgment pretty quickly that they were sending the battery but nothing yet, so I called back to be sure the claim form was received...and it was. I asked if the 14 days inspection time would be re-set based on when the battery was received and was told NO. The battery may take a few days to process, plus shipping time. That severely cuts down on my test period since a few days have already elapsed.

So, just a heads up that Nikon does not re-set the 14-day window for returning equipment even if a part was missing from the order they sent.

Return it at once if it is still in the return window. Then reorder another one----and hope they do not resend this one again with no battery. Or just buy one from another source after returning this one

Again, please understand that this post is a heads up about Nikon's policy on missing parts and their lack of follow-up on resolving the issue, and not a request for alternate solutions. This problem should never have to be about a customer scrambling to incur costs in order to meet a 'deadline' for a trial period.

Agreed...I, too, have always had excellent treatment from KEH.

The only hesitation I have had about returning is the $400 deep discount promotion Nikon had going at the time I ordered it.

I'm afraid your effirt is a lost cause. I started what was intended to be a clarification of what is and isn't part of "refurbishment" at Nikon. There was an almost complete inability of just about anyone to read and respond to what I'd written. Many even told me that it was important to only buy refurbs from the proper sources. I'm just about done trying to have an intelligent conversation here. Reading and thought comprehension levels simply won't suppirt it.

Yeah, we get your point. What is an "effirt", is that similar to a "suppirt"??

Yes. Danger of typing on my phone too early in the morning. Found it too late to fix it.

Not about to spend $75 on something I might not keep. It's the principle of the matter that prompted me to share the heads up for others to be aware. I'll figure out what to do about it.

An EL-15a is $17 on Amazon. You can always keep as a backup to the 15c they owe you. I would only add, if you are shooting a D5300 now and have used a D600 and D750 before, you will love the Z7II. You saved $400, don't let $17 keep you from a great deal on a great camera.

I wonder how much you paid for the Z6ii?
