Ordered and just received a refurbished Z6II, but the battery was missing. When I notified Nikon of the missing part, the representative had me complete a form with the camera's serial number and description of the missing part to be returned. Thought I would get an acknowledgment pretty quickly that they were sending the battery but nothing yet, so I called back to be sure the claim form was received...and it was. I asked if the 14 days inspection time would be re-set based on when the battery was received and was told NO. The battery may take a few days to process, plus shipping time. That severely cuts down on my test period since a few days have already elapsed.
So, just a heads up that Nikon does not re-set the 14-day window for returning equipment even if a part was missing from the order they sent.

KEH is probably a better used / referb seller in that case!
If you want to make enemies, say something true about Nikon.

Aha! and the refurbished dept may be not run directly by Nikon...
I'm pretty sure if someone above the first level of contact with Nikon was approached and the issue described, the results would be to extend the test period. Your request seems quite reasonable.

In that case just return it for money you can always buy another refurbished after that. Sometimes the people who run those business don't know how to think and you may run into complication later if you want to return after the 14 days.

Agreed. Simply asking for the Return Authorization number tends to generate a different response flowchart on the other end of the phone ...

Just borrow a battery from someone you know to test it out, easy.
Or just send it back and be done with it. You are dealing with corporate policies here, NOT an individual.
I once bought a used camera from KEH that came with no charger or battery and they basically told me to pound wood!
KEH hasn't had the Z6ii recently--out of stock--but I had been checking.

Would be interested to know if that is the case. Supposedly, Nikon won't take non-US equipment in trade which would lead me to think the refurb dept. is closely tied to the new sales.

Bob, you are channeling my BH! I figured I'd wait to see when the battery actually ships before making that call.

Yeah, I can buy another one, but may not save the $400 that I got off on the current offer. I'd been watching availability for a while and this is the first real deal I've seen from Nikon with the pre-4th of July sale.

Aha, now you're talking. That also works well when your TV provider starts jacking your monthly rate up...call to cancel their service and they treat you like a new customer instead of a 20+ year loyal customer.

Don't have any Nikon friends...
As I told BebuLamar, this deal is the lowest price I've seen, so not in a rush to return. But I do think Nikon should have some accountability on their end to provide what is due and extend the trial time.

Or something good about Canon, if any can be found.
