I carry my 150-600 Tamron with a cotton carrier vest and attach the safety strap and the strap to hold the lens to the vest. Wondering why do you need a double handle and not use the lens handle as your carrying handle

Just got a 600mm f4. If it is on a monopod or tripod over the shoulder for a longer walk. I also have a somewhat small strap on the lens that I put over my neck just in case I drop or it detaches from monopod. Also hand to have it hold the weight if you are adjusting the legs. If I were to adjust legs, afraid it may tip and fall! Too much money to drop it!!!
This little strap is not obtrusive and just enough for safety!

Better (and available) solution. Billnikon provided an attractive solution to help carry a long lens & camera however “out of stock”, “discontinued” and from the manufacturer “5-8 day delay after the conclusion of the Chinese New Year” leaves us hanging. A better solution is to change the foot to an elongated Arca Swiss foot (yes, this assumes you use Arca Swiss). The Nikon (200-500 or 500) requires you to add an Arca Swiss plate (ASP) to its foot. The problem is ASP addon has only one screw which even when used with a Gimbal head has to constantly be retightened (shooting jets at 7 FPS). Better, yes, the elongated ASP makes a great, stable handle. I use a Black Rapid and additionally help support weight by carrying the foot. You also would have a faster dismount to tripod and the strap hangs around your neck.

I would like to hear how members of the forum carry their cameras with large lenses such as the Nikon 200mm-500mm attached. My present rig is a Cotton Carrier belt holster with the lug in the tripod socket supplemented with a Peak Design strap cross body to distribute the weight between shoulder and waist and importantly to take stress off of the tripod socket. I tried attaching the Cotton Carrier lug to the lens tripod attachment but it is very unwieldly. It's amazing how cumbersome 8 pounds of camera and lens can become.

Hello, your post has generated a lot of interest. There are several different ones on Amazon but I did not see your particular model.
The Zeadio brand looks interesting. Once my trip is done, will get me one. If you could post a link to yours, that would be appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure how many would find this helpful, but I found it at B&H.

The lens feet on some large lenses are very comfortable as a handle. I know a couple of Nikon feet are even cushioned. A good Arca Swiss plate is all that's needed.

My tripod foot on my Sony 600 f4 is padded.
