I would like to hear how members of the forum carry their cameras with large lenses such as the Nikon 200mm-500mm attached. My present rig is a Cotton Carrier belt holster with the lug in the tripod socket supplemented with a Peak Design strap cross body to distribute the weight between shoulder and waist and importantly to take stress off of the tripod socket. I tried attaching the Cotton Carrier lug to the lens tripod attachment but it is very unwieldly. It's amazing how cumbersome 8 pounds of camera and lens can become.
I carry mine with a D850 in my hands.

If I'm going to shoot hand held I carry it by the lens foot. I exchanged the original for a RRS version.
If I will be shooting from a tripod I attach the camera and lens to the tripod and carry it over my shoulder.

I'm with Bill_de. I shoot a Sony A7R3 with a Sigma 150-600. Hand held or on a monopod, I carry it by the lens foot. On a tripod, I sling it over my shoulder.

This is how a man carries a Nikon 200-500 mm lens. "No straps or slings that you don't need, this little handle is a: bad ass need".
My M4/3 Panasonic GX8 plus a Panasonic 100-300 (200-600 equiv.) weighs in at 2.2 lbs. I don't own that lens. Same camera plus my Panasonic 45-175 PZ (90-350 equiv) weighs in at 1.6 lbs.
Mentioned for those where weight is becoming a problem.

So what brand/source is the handle? Where does one locate a handle like that? Thanks…

Amen.
I hold both the camera and tripod foot while moving around. It would be way too easy for that lens to slip off the front of the camera and boom. I always have my neck strap around my neck too except when the camera is firmly affixed to tripod. Cautious with winds.

That handle looks like a great idea. What is its name and where do I purchase one? Thank you.
The foot on my long Sony is from RSS and is long enough to be a comfortable handle.
I still use a strap with a military grade QD attachment though...because you never know what is going to happen next sometimes.
If I bring my tripod...whole rig is set up and locked down...over my shoulder.

Cross body neoprene sling strap to the lens collar. While walking, my right hand is usually cupped under the barrel.
Hey Bill Nikon! Who makes that little carry handle? We want to know!!! Thanks.
